Audrey Arlene (Heiserman) Shouse

Audrey Arlene (Heiserman) Shouse, 85, of rural Rockville, Missouri died Saturday, July 19, 2014 at the Appleton City Manor due to natural causes. Arrangements are under direction of Hill & Son Funeral Home, El Dorado Springs, and services are scheduled at 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 25, at the funeral home with Tony Reynolds officiating. Burial is planned in the Appleton City Cemetery. The family receives friends between 7:00 and 8:30 p.m. Thursday, July 24, at Hill & Son Funeral Home. Memorials either to the Appleton City Cemetery or Heartland Hospice are suggested.

Audrey was born at the family farm on September 27, 1928 daughter of Charlie Frank and Elsie Mae (Burton) Heiserman. She was the middle sibling of seven children. As a young girl, Audrey was baptized at Green Valley Methodist Church. She attended Elm Grove Grade School and completed two years at Rockville High School.

Audrey was united in marriage to Walter “Jack” Shouse on November 25, 1944 in Little Rock, Arkansas, where Jack was completing Army basic training. After serving in the army, they resided at the Shouse family farm near Taberville, Missouri for 47 years. To this union five children were born.

Audrey worked hard to provide family income with produce from the farm and timberland: milking cows, fish, wild game, and picking up thousands of pounds of pecans. She was employed at Mott’s Meat Locker, in manufacturing, as an Avon representative, and cooking for Ellett Hospital.

Audrey enjoyed the outdoors with her flower gardening, watching her hummingbirds and going to the mountains in Colorado. She also was an avid reader, crocheted and embroidered, making sure every grandchild had a special quilt. Audrey was loving mother and devoted herself to caring for her grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Jack, an infant daughter Ruby Phyllis, son Jim Shouse, granddaughter Kelly Pennington, great-grandchildren Jeffrey Pennington and Allison Shouse, siblings: Gilbert “Bud” Heiserman, Cora Lesmeister, Charles “Chuck” Heiserman, Josephine Hauschild, and Grace Belew. 

Survivors include her three daughters, Roxy Rotert (Gene) of Rockville, MO, Nancy Brown (Wayne) and Becky Browning (Leland) all of Appleton City, daughter-in-law Sherry Shouse of Rockville. One sister Myrna Tenholder (Don) Montrose, MO, nine grandchildren: Randy Rotert (Maria), Rusty Rotert (Chantel), Chris Rotert (Michelle), David Rotert (Kandi), Brandon Shouse (Cara), Lorrie Jenkins (Mike), Jeremy Brown (Tracy), Matthew Browning (Nikki), Heidi Braning (Tom); 16 great grandchildren: Nathan, Danielle, Myranda, Stephanie, Jack, Lilly, Callen, Aidan, Will, Austin, Justin, Makayla, Jackson, Travis, Becka and Kerri; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to remember her.

St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: Arrest Warrants Issued

Michelle Martin

•  On July 15, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Michelle Martin, 26, Nevada, charging her with a class C felony of possession of a controlled substance. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

Aeriel Lingenfelser

•  On July 15, a St. Clair County arrest warrant was issued for Aeriel Lingenfelser, 23, Osceola, charging her with a class C felony of domestic assault in the second degree. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.  The charge stems from an incident on June 27 when a St. Clair County deputy responded to a domestic disturbance on NE 151 Road. Lingenfelser allegedly assaulted a female victim by grabbing her by the hair and throwing her to the ground. She allegedly threw the female victim to the ground a second time and began striking her in the head.

St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: Man arrested after failing to yield

Thomas Timberlake

On Sunday July 13, St. Clair County deputies assisted with a call regarding a vehicle failing to yield to an Osceola Police Department officer with emergency lights and siren activated. The vehicle was traveling northbound on Highway 13 in the southbound lanes. The driver of the vehicle, later identified as Thomas Timberlake, 54, Osceola, traveled west on B Highway, onto NW 300 Road and then onto NW 101 Road. A deputy attempted to utilize stop sticks at the intersection of NW 101 Road and FF Highway. Timberlake allegedly turned the vehicle and attempted to run the deputy over with his car. The deputy ordered Timberlake to stop and then attempted to fire two rounds into the back tire as the vehicle was going by. The shots failed to stop the vehicle.

Timberlake continued onto FF Highway to NE Center Road and back onto NW 300 Road to NW 101 Road where he turned into a field on private property. Another deputy attempted to fire three shots at the vehicle’s tire. The shots failed and the vehicle drove off of the property and almost struck the property owner’s vehicle. The vehicle headed south on NW 101 Road and then east on NW 300 Road before turning south on NE 75 Road to B Highway. Timberlake traveled east on B Highway and turned south onto NE 175 Road where Timberlake’s vehicle almost struck the Sac-Osage Hospital Ambulance that was staged in case of an accident.

Timberlake continued traveling south in the Red Rock Subdivision on NE 175 Road to his residence where he was taken into custody. On July 14, Timberlake was formally charged and arrest warrants were obtained charging him with two felony counts, a class C felony of assault on a law enforcement officer and a class D felony of resisting arrest/detention/stop by fleeing creating a substantial risk of serious injury/death to any person. Bond was set at $10,000 cash or surety and a court date of Aug. 15 was given.

Kenneth Collins, Jr

•  On July 15, Kenneth Collins, Jr., 30, Clinton, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant issued for failing to appear in court on misdemeanor charges of driving while revoked from November 2013 and receiving stolen property from February 2014. Total bond is set at $2,000 cash only. The warrant was issued on May 31.

 

Mathew Robertson

• On July 16, Mathew Robertson, 27, Pittsburg,Kansas was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on three charges of passing bad checks. Two charges are class C felonies and the other charge is a class A misdemeanor. The charges stem from checks written in St. Clair County in June and July 2013. Bond is set at $500 cash only and a court date of Aug. 1 was given.

 

Glynn Cardwell

• On Sunday, July 13, Glynn Cardwell, 35, Collins, was arrested in St. Clair County on a Hickory County misdemeanor warrant for failing to appear in court on original charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia. Bond is set at $508.50 cash only 

and a court date of July 15, was given.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest Report 7/19/14

 On 7/19/14 around 11:00am The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 27 year old Caleb S. Wilburn of Independence, Missouri. He was arrested on 1.) Felony Possession of a controlled substance 2.) Misdemeanor possession of Marijuana. He was booked into the Bates County Jail and later released.
 
 
 

Rich Hill Elementary Meet The Teacher

The staff at the Rich Hill Elementary School will host a Meet The Teacher" program next month. All students planning to be in grades kindergarten through six this year are welcome between 6:00 and 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 13. Their parents should attend and the students can bring their school supplies for storage. Enrollment packets for students in kindergarten through six will be available in the Principal's office at the school, 320 E. Poplar Street, between 7:30 a.m. and 3:00 p.m. Monday, August 4. The completed packets should be returned as soon as possible. Fall semester classes at the elementary school in the R-4 District at Rich Hill start Thursday, August 14, with a full day -- between 8:00 a.m. and 2:56 p.m.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest Report 7/18/14

On 7/18/14 around 11:10pm The Missouri State Highway Patrol arrested 23 year old James A. Vinson of Adrian, Missouri. He was arrested on 1.) DWI 2.) Failure to dim headlights 3.) Exceeding posted speed limit - 26 MPH or more. He was booked into the Bates County Jail and placed on a 12 hour detox hold.
