Wilma G. Flanary, 81, Excelsior Springs, Missouri,
formerly of Harrisonville, Missouri, died Friday August 1, 2014 at her
home in Excelsior Springs. Graveside services will be held 10:00am
Monday, August 4, 2014 at Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Harrisonville.
Wilma was born July 2, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri, a daughter of
Finis Thomas and Carrie Cleo (Wolkey) Roberts. Wilma was a long time
resident of Cass County, Missouri and was a 1951 graduate of Garden
City, Missouri High School. She was united in marriage to Elmer Clark
Flanary on July 28, 1951 at the Harrisonville First Baptist Church, the
Rev. George C. Monroe officiating minister. Wilma was baptized at age
9 at the Hollywood Presbyterian Church in Kansas City and was currently
a member of Wolland Baptist Church in Excelsior Springs.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer, on December 14, 2013,
her parents, a sister, Cleo Goodman, a brother, Finis Roberts Jr. and a
grandson, Gabrielle Ketchum. Survivors include four daughters, Connie
Ketchum, Freeman, Missouri, Cathy Jo Ginnings and husband, Dale,
Excelsior Springs, Missouri, Carrie Wilson and Carli Flanary, both of
Freeman; a sister, Doris Smith, Bullard, Texas; an extended duaghter,
Susan Figg, Garden City, Missouri; eleven grandchildren and five
great-grandchildren.
