Patient dies when ambulance crashes, overturns along I-49 near Harrisonville
The driver of an ambulance headed to the Kansas City VA Medical
Center lost control and crashed in heavy rain Wednesday night along
Interstate 49. The patient being transported died in the crash.
The Vernon County ambulance was northbound on I-49 just north of Harrisonville about 11:30 p.m. when its back end started sliding on wet pavement, said Sgt. Bill Lowe, a spokesman for the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The ambulance ran off the right side of the road, overturned and came to rest on its roof in a ditch. The name of the patient, a 65-year-old Nevada, Mo., man, has not been released.
A 23-year-old paramedic in the back with the patient suffered serious injuries. The 25-year-old driver suffered minor injuries. Both work for the Vernon County Ambulance District.

Electrical Line Down In Butler
The Butler Fire Department along with The city of Butler Electric Department is in route to a Electrical Line that is down and is on fire in the street. The location of this is in the alley behind 204 West Chestnut Street in Butler. Bates County Live will update when more information becomes available.

The Adrian Bank has partnered with the Archie United Methodist Church and they are collecting new school supplies for area students.
