UPDATE: Family loses everything in house fire in Foster

Fire ripped through this home in Foster just after lunch on Friday

On Friday Nov. 7th at approximately 12:50 PM at the intersection of U & DD Highways in Foster. The Foster Fire Department along with mutual aid from the Rich Hill Fire Department and the Butler Fire Department responded to a single story residence with heavy smoke coming from attic.

The fire was declared under control at approximately 4:30 PM with units clearing the scene at approximately 5:30 pm. 

The house was a total loss. The cause of the fire is still under investigation and is undetermined at this time. No one was injured in the fire. The family has been reported to have lost everything.

St. Clair County Sheriff's Office: Warrant Arrest

On Nov. 7, Michelle Martin, 26, Bolivar, was arrested on five St. Clair County warrants for failing to appear in court. Martin is charged with a class C felony of possessing a controlled substance, a class B misdemeanor of driving while intoxicated, a class A misdemeanor of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia, a class A misdemeanor of operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner involving an accident, and an infraction of failing to failure to transfer plates of vehicle within 30 days. 

The charges stem from an incident with the Missouri State Highway Patrol in May. Total bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety and $4,000 cash only. A court date of Dec. 19 was given.

Mary Lee Stuart, 87, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Friday, November 7, 2014 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 14, 2014 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville with burial in Orient Cemetery, Harrisonville. The family will receive friends from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Friday at the Atkinson Funeral Home.

Ruth Alice Wiedenmann, 75, Garden City, Missouri, died Wednesday, November 5, 2014 at her home. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 15, 2014 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Harrisonville, Missouri. House Fire in Foster


The Rich Hill Fire Department along with The Bates County Sheriff's Office is on scene of a house fire in Foster at the intersection of  DD Highway and U Highway. 

Everyone is out of the house at this time and the fire appears to have started in the attic of the home.
