Drake Vermillion and Principal Jimmie Barton
The Ballard R-II School District is pleased to be working in conjunction with the Ballard Parent-Teacher Organization to honor a Middle Level (grades 5-8) Student of the Month for the 2014-2015 school year.

Student of the Month is selected by the staff of the Ballard R-II School District using the following criteria: attendance; attitude towards others and school; behavior; leadership; and improvement in or maintenance of good grades.

The Middle Level Student of the Month for November is 6th grader Drake Vermillion, son of Tara Vermillion and Wayne Vermillion. Music Instructor, Vicki Lybarger, claims “Drake is a very hard worker. When he sets his mind to do something, he goes all in. He is a bit of a show off, which sometimes gets him in hot water, but it came in real handy during the play. He did an excellent job as Scrooge. Drake is very smart, and I look for big things in his future.

”For Drake’s hard work in school he is receiving a certificate of recognition from the Ballard PTO and a $15 gift certificate to the Ballard Grill.
