Street Closure in Butler

The City of Butler Crews will have Atkinson Street from Olive to Broadway Streets in Butler closed today for a unknown period of time. Please use a alternate route.

Roadwork on I-49 South of Butler

The Missouri Department of Transportation will have road crews out in our area Tuesday. According to MoDOT Officials, I-49, in Vernon County, will be to one lane of traffic in various locations due to pavement repairs. MoDOT Officials also says, I-49, over Possum Branch and Miami Creek, at mile markers 126 and 127, South of Butler, will be down to one lane of traffic due to bridge work. The Missouri Department of Transportation reminds motorists to use caution, be alert for flashing arrows on trucks, and slow down.

Casino Night March 21st Adrian Optimist Building

Stop by the Bates County Sheriff's Office and see Jami to purchase your 8th Annual Casino Night tickets. With your $25.00 admission ticket your dinner and drinks will be included. 

Casino Night will be March 21st at the Adrian Optimist Building. You must be 21 to attend. Social hour is from 6:30 to 7:30. The casino will be open from 7:30 to 10 p.m. There will be live mouse races, plinko, and raffles along with Blackjack, Craps and Poker. There will be a live auction after the Casino closes. 

All proceeds from the event will benefit the Bates County Children's Center.

Snow Expected Wednesday: 1-3 inches likely

Accumulating snow is expected through the day Wednesday. Generally, amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected with the greatest amounts across far northwestern Missouri and extreme northeastern Kansas. Snow is expected to start during the morning hours across northwestern Missouri and spread southeastward through the day, ending during the overnight hours.

Obituary - Bruce Gilkey

Bruce Gilkey, of Rich Hill, passed away on Friday, January 30th. He was 62. Arrangements are under the direction of Heuser Funeral Home. Memorial services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 4th at the Heuser Funeral Home.

The family suggests memorial contributions to the Bruce Gilkey Memorial Fund, in care of Heuser Funeral Home.
