Visitation for Robert Wallace Bousfield, 76, of Drexel, MO will be held from 10am - 12pm on Friday, February 6th at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, La Cygne Chapel. 

A private family burial will be held at the Fort Scott National Cemetery.

St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office: recent increase in crime

The St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office is still seeking the public's help regarding a recent increase in crime. According to St. Clair County Sheriff Officials, on January 29th, Deputies began investigating a report of burglary from the Osceola area. The victim said they arrived home to find a screen door open and a door damaged, with property missing, including a 46” TV. Officials also say, on February 1st, Deputies took a report of theft from a resident of Lowry City. 

The victim reported various tools and equipment stolen from a barn. Anyone with information regarding these crimes are asked to call the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office Tip line at 417-646-5832. The St. Clair County Sheriff Officials remind area residents to be aware of the traffic on your road. 

If you see a suspicious vehicle in your community, attempt to get a license place number, as well as a vehicle description, and a description of the person or persons in the vehicle.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol is on scene of a minor vehicle accident at the corner of Orange and Pine Street in Butler.

The accident is involving a Butler Police car and a white SUV. 

No injuries are reported with this crash. The damage to the vehicles are minor.

Obituary - Roland Earl "Rod" Surbaugh

Roland Earl "Rod" Surbaugh, age 79, La Cygne, Kansas passed away on Tuesday, February 3, 2015.

Funeral service will be held 11 a.m., Saturday, February 7, 2015 at the La Cygne Christian Church. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Weather Update: Accumulating Snowfall on the way

Snow is currently falling over portions of Nebraska and Iowa, and we anticipate snow to move into northwest Missouri and northeast Kansas later this morning. The highest snowfall totals, 2-3" with locally higher amounts, are expected north of Interstate 70. 

Gusty winds will result in some blowing snow and reduced visibilities at times. Use extra caution while driving; we wish you safe travels.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest Report: Florida man Arrested

On 2/3/15 around 2:55 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 34 year old Jeremy L. Moffett of Pace, Florida. 

He was arrested on 1.) Felony possession of Marijuana 2.) Unlawful use of drug paraphernalia 3.) Following to closely.

Mr. Moffett was booked into the Bates County Jail and later released. 

Obituary - David Earl Reiman

David Earl Reiman, 80, Adrian, Missouri, died Monday, February 2. 2015 at the Kansas City Hospice House in Kansas City, Missouri. Visitation will be from 1:00-2:00 p.m. with Masonic services at 2:00 p.m. and funeral services to follow, on Friday, February 6, 2015, at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Archie, Missouri.
