St. Clair County Sheriff's report February 9-16

St. Clair County Sheriff's Office activity February 9-16, 2015


St. Clair County deputies responded to a variety of calls for service during the week of February 9-16. Sheriff Scott Keeler said deputies made several warrant arrests and took reports of burglary and theft.

Burglary complaint in Collins
On Feb. 15, a St. Clair County deputy took a burglary complaint on Coon Creek Street, Collins. Ashley Ebeling reported someone forced opened a door to her residence and several items are missing. Ebeling reported a 27” flat screen television, Nintendo Wii video game console with four controllers and two games, a Dell Laptop computer, and 100 miscellaneous music CDs missing. The total value of the items was estimated at $1,100.

Theft reported at Sugarfoot BBQ
On Feb. 13, a St. Clair County deputy took a report in reference to a theft at Sugarfoot BBQ, Highway 82, Osceola. Tyler Bryant reported a pressure washer, torch, and 20 lb. propane bottle were missing.

Possible stolen vehicle located
On Feb. 12, St. Clair County deputies were dispatched to SE 550 Road near T Highway, Osceola, in reference to a possible stolen vehicle located on the side of the road. The vehicle, a green Nissan truck, was located without any vehicle identification numbers, license plates, headlights, doors, grill, rear bumper, or back glass. Photographs were taken and the vehicle towed. The investigation is ongoing.

Miami late start tomorrow

Miami schools will have a two hour late start on Tuesday. There will be no preschool and no breakfast served as well.

Miami school board meeting postponed

The regularly scheduled Miami R-1 Board of Education Meeting, scheduled for 7PM tonight Monday 2/16/15 has been postponed due to weather conditions.

It has been rescheduled for Wednesday 2/18/15 at 7 PM in the Board Room at the school.

Obituary - Larry Wheatley

Larry Wheatley, of Nevada, passed away on Friday, February 13th at his home in Nevada. He was 61. Arrangements are under the direction of Heuser Funeral Home in Rich Hill. Funeral services are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. on Wednesday, February 18th at Heuser Funeral Home with burial in the Green Lawn Cemetery in Rich Hill. 

The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. until the hour of the service. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Rich Hill Memorial Library or the Rich Hill Lion's Club Foundation, in care of Heuser Funeral Home.

Obituary - Kaitlyn Elaine Turner

Funeral services for Kaitlyn Elaine Turner will be 1 p.m. Friday, February 20, 2015 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Judy Bone officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 12 - 1 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Cremation to follow services. 

Kaitlyn Elaine Turner, age 22 of Butler, Missouri died Sunday, February 15, 2015 in Kansas City, Missouri as a result of a motor vehicle accident. She was born September 8, 1992 to Tony Pumilia and Linda Kay Carmichael.

Kaitlyn is survived by a daughter, Avery Turner of Butler, Missouri; one sister, Andrea Barton of Butler, Missouri; her father, Tony Pumilia and wife Robin of Minnesota; her maternal grandparents, Dennis and Rhonda Carmichael of Mercer, Missouri; and maternal great-grandfather, Dean Marolf of Lineville, Iowa. She was preceded in death by her mother, Linda Carmichael Owens.

Obituary - Ida Juanita Jacobs

Funeral services for Ida Jacobs will be 11 a.m. Saturday, February 21, 2015 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. Visitation will be prior to services from 10-11 a.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Cremation to follow services. Contributions to American Heart Association. 

Ida Juanita Jacobs, age 88 of Butler, Missouri died Saturday, February 14, 2015 at Bates County Memorial Hospital in Butler. She was born July 14, 1926 to Alonzo and Ida Hill Pointer Lee in Butler.

Ida is survived by one son, Robert Edmond Jacobs of Butler, Missouri; one daughter, Ida Jacobs of Kansas City, Missouri; four grandchildren, Robert, Matthew, Cardiss and David; and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; and one sister, Berdie Potts.
