The Bates County Sheriff's Office is seeking applications for a POST certified Deputy position. You will be required to pass a criminal and character background check as well as a drug screen. The hourly rate is $11.23 per hour. The full time position has benefits that includes health insurance.

3 vehicle accident sends Archie man to hospital
Around 7:15 a.m. this morning The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County Responded to a 3 vehicle accident on 291 Highway and 235th Road in rural Cass County.
The accident occurred when all 3 vehicles were traveling Southbound on 291 Highway when the 2006 Dodge Charger driven by 42 year old Douglas E. Boucher of Archie, Missouri was stopped for a unknown vehicle waiting to turn and was struck in the rear by a 2004 Dodge Truck driven by Michael H. Coffel 58 of Harrisonville, Missouri. Mr Boucher's vehicle then struck the rear of a 2012 Mitsubishi Galante driven by Jennifer L. Fleming 41, of Lees Summit, Mo.
Mr. Boucher was taken by Central Cass Ambulance to Cass Regional Medical center with minor injuries. The other 2 drivers were not injured on this accident.

Obituary - Helen Louise Lee
Helen Louise Lee, 83, of Harrisonville, Mo. died Monday, February 23, 2015 at Vitas Hospice in Kansas City, Mo. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, 2015 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, with visitation from 10:00-11:00. Burial will be in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, Mo. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Abiding Love Baptist Church of Harrisonville or the Shepherd Staff Food Pantry of Harrisonville.
Helen was born March 23, 1931 in Adrian, Mo. to Estel and Alvin Pearl (Trigg) Welch. On November 18, 1950, she was united in marriage to Russell E. Robinson. To this union one daughter was born. On October 16, 1998 she was united in marriage to Robert W. Lee. Church was a big part of Helen’s life; she taught Sunday school for 50 years and was a member of Abiding Love Baptist Church in Harrisonville.
Helen was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Russell in 1989; her husband, Robert in 2011; sisters, Naomi Alleen Welch and Alice Maxine Bartles. She is survived by her daughter, Cathy Eggerth of Santa Clarita, CA; four sisters, June Walker of Kansas City, Mo, Earlene Vaughn (Ron) of Warrensburg, Mo, Delores Metcalf of Pleasant Hill, Mo and Sue Brown (Don) of Adrian, Mo; one step-son, Robert Lee (Pat) of Blue Springs, Mo; four grandchildren, Brandon Eggerth (Amanda), BriAnne Eggerth, Brett Eggerth and Brooks Eggerth; one brother, Laverne Welch (Roma) Adrian, MO: one step-granddaughter, Katie Lee; and many nieces and nephews.

Obituary - Donald Harry Trinkle
Donald Harry Trinkle, 82, long-time resident of Adrian, Missouri, died Friday, February 20, 2015 at John Knox Village in Lee’s Summit, Missouri. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, February 27, at the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Butler, Missouri with visitation from 9:30-10:00. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 p.m. Friday at Mt. Olivet Cemetery in Kansas City, Missouri. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to: Rose Jeaneane Trinkle Scholarship Fund – Adrian Schools.
Donald was born December 21, 1932 in Kansas City, Missouri, the son of Mervil Claude and Christine (Thiessen) Trinkle. He was a U. S. Army veteran of the Korean War. Donald married Rose Jeaneane Taylor on July 7, 1972 in Raytown, Missouri.
Donald was a dairy farmer and also owned a Standard Service Station. He was active in the Knights of Columbus, Lions Club and the Chamber of Commerce.
Donald was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Jeaneane, whom he loved dearly. He is survived by a stepdaughter, Roseanne Bradley, Kansas City, Missouri; three sisters, Verna Borgman, Las Vegas, Nevada, Leona Kelley, Kansas City, Missouri and Rita Melton, Springfield, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: Warrant arrest and criminal summons issued

On Feb. 24, Zachary VanHolt, 25, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class C felony of possessing a controlled substance. The warrant was issued on Feb. 23 and stems from an incident in November 2014 when a St. Clair County deputy conducted a traffic stop in Collins. During the investigation an ink pen shaft that tested positive for methamphetamines was located in the glove box. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety.

On Feb. 23, a criminal summons was issued for Connie DeHart, 43, Collins, charging her with a class C felony of possessing a controlled substance. The summons was issued on Feb. 23 and stemmed from an incident in July 2014 when a St. Clair County deputy responded to SE 475 Road, Collins, in reference to a suspicious vehicle. During the investigation contact was made with DeHart, who allegedly threw a small bag into a ditch. The bag was retrieved and the contents tested positive for methamphetamine. DeHart was arrested immediately following the incident, but posted a $10,000 surety bond and was released pending formal charges. Court proceedings are scheduled for April 3.
