Large hay bale fire East of Adrian

The Adrian Fire Department along mutual aid from several other fire departments are on scene of approximately 50 large hay bales that are fully engulfed in flames.

The location of this fire is off of Z highway East of Adrian. No structures are in danger at this time. Mid America Live will update this when more information becomes available from the Adrian Fire Department.

Obituary - Charles Hunter Reeves II

Charles Hunter Reeves II, age 43, resident of Fort Scott, Kansas, died Wednesday, February 25, 2015, at Mercy Hospital in Fort Scott. He was born May 22, 1971, in Groton, Connecticut, the son of Dr. Charles Stewart Reeves and Harriett Carr Reeves. He graduated from Fort Scott High School with the class of 1989. He worked for K & K Auto Parts from 1989 until 1999. He then worked as a custodian for USD234 from 1999 until 2014. He married Talitha Ann Brown on April 1, 1995, in Fort Scott. Hunter enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was an avid classic movie buff, often quoting famous lines. His favorite was John Wayne. He was blessed with many wonderful friends and possessed a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church.

Survivors include his wife Tally of the home; two daughters, Hannah Jo Ann Reeves and Emmah Mae Reeves; two sons, Hunter Michael Patrick Reeves and Hollis Fulton Reeves; his parents Dr. Stewart and Harriett Reeves, Fort Scott; sister, Catherine Reeves and husband Joe Kilanoski, Denver, Colorado; father and mother-in-law, Mike and Vicki Brown, Fort Scott; brother-in-law, Kyle Brown and wife Jamie, Fort Scott; and two nieces, Graycyn and Kinsley Brown. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Charles and Dorothy Carr and Charles and Mae Reeves.

Rev. Jared Witt will conduct funeral services at 10:30 AM Monday, March 2nd, at the First Presbyterian Church. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 2:00 until 4:00 Sunday afternoon at the Cheney Witt Chapel. Memorials are suggested to the Reeves Children’s College Fund and may be left in care of the Cheney Witt Chapel, PO Box 347, 201 S. Main, Fort Scott, Kansas 66701. Words of remembrance may be submitted to the online celebration wall at cheneywitt.com.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Troop A: 400 pounds of marijuana-laced chocolate was recovered in traffic stop

The Missouri Highway Patrol said it seized about 400 pounds of edible marijuana chocolate bars during a traffic stop on Interstate 70 Tuesday

The driver of a 2015 Infinti QX60 was pulled over for a traffic violation near the 40-mile marker in Lafayette County. The troopers said that the driver's inconsistencies and deceptive behavior led to a search of the vehicle, where the candy was discovered in a cargo area.

Jeffrey J. Woo, 42, of Ladera Ranch, California., was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance.

He was taken to the Lafayette County Jail.

3 vehicle accident sends Archie man to hospital

Around 7:15 a.m. this morning The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County Responded to a 3 vehicle accident on 291 Highway and 235th Road in rural Cass County.

The accident occurred when all 3 vehicles were traveling Southbound on 291 Highway when the 2006 Dodge Charger driven by 42 year old Douglas E. Boucher of Archie, Missouri was stopped for a unknown vehicle waiting to turn and was struck in the rear by a 2004 Dodge Truck driven by Michael H. Coffel 58 of Harrisonville, Missouri. Mr Boucher's vehicle then struck the rear of a 2012 Mitsubishi Galante driven by Jennifer L. Fleming 41, of Lees Summit, Mo.


Mr. Boucher was taken by Central Cass Ambulance to Cass Regional Medical center with minor injuries. The other 2 drivers were not injured on this accident.
