Weather Update: Cold and Wintry...
Bitter cold will stick with us into Friday before temperatures moderate over the weekend, but with warmer temperatures will come snow. Expect snowfall to arrive in eastern Kansas and far western Missouri some time Saturday morning, spreading across the rest of Missouri through Saturday afternoon. This could be a long event, but snow should start to taper off by Sunday morning with all the snowfall moving to our east by Sunday night. Current forecast totals range as high as 3 to 6 inches due the expected length of time over which the snow will occur across Kansas and northern Missouri. More precipitation will be possible Monday night into Tuesday; and with warming temperatures we expect any precipitation by Tuesday to be all liquid rain.

Bates County Museum’s Annual Meeting and Show ‘n Tell Gathering & Donation Lunch
One of the Museum’s most anticipated programs each year is the “Show ‘n Tell Gathering.” There have been many items shared over the years and the stories about these objects are always fun and fascinating. Some are sentimental, while others are practical. It’s always a surprise to see what folks choose to bring to share with others.
As in year’s past, there will be a short Society membership meeting at the beginning of the program and the election of directors for the board will be held. Following this short meeting, the sharing will begin. After everyone is done telling about their special object, a freewill donation luncheon will be served. The morning will be both entertaining and educational! Together, we will be Preserving Our History & Sustaining Our Heritage.
Saturday, March 7th, 10 am in Robertson Hall at the Bates County Museum, 803 Elks Drive, Butler, Missouri. For further information please call 660-679-0134.
