Obituary - Johnie D. Henry

Funeral services for Johnie D. Henry will be 1 p.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with no visitation. Burial in Greenlawn Cemetery, Rich Hill, Missouri. Contributions to the American Cancer Society. 

Johnie D. Henry, age 85 of Rich Hill, Missouri died Sunday, March 15, 2015 at Medicalodge Nursing Home in Butler, Missouri. He was born July 1, 1929 to Bert Ray and Dollie May Woolery Henry in East Lynn, Missouri.

Johnie is survived by two sons, John Henry and wife Dorothy of Butler, Missouri and Charles Ray Henry and wife Carla of Gravois Mills, Missouri; one daughter, Penny Perry of Independence, Missouri; and a sister Lillian Shippey of Louisburg, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Ruby in 1989 and his second wife Irene.

Glen Harold Urban, age 53 of Parker, Colorado(formerly of Butler) died Wednesday, March 11, 2015 in Parker, Colorado. He was born to Frank Newton and Louise Marie Pahlman Urban in Karachi, Pakistan.

Glen is survived by two sisters, Teresa Lynn Engel of Parker, Colorado and Cheryll Aynn Brown and husband Thomas of Nixa, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Brenda Silvers.

Butler Parks and Recreation: Buy a banner

BUTLER, Mo - With the baseball season quickly approaching the Butler Parks and Recreation Department is hard at work getting the fields ready for play.

The recent purchase of 5 truckloads of dirt will help to replenish the infields on the baseball fields and the purchase of the dirt was made possible by the sale of advertising banners. These banners are hung on each of the outfield fences on the baseball fields.

Anyone, individuals or businesses can purchase a banner for advertising. If you are interested contact Scott Bitner, Butler Parks and Recreation Department, at 660-200-2062. The donations you make stay at home, right here in Butler, and benefit area children.
