Max Motors Cars and Coffee Car Show

Everyone is invited to the very first Max Motors Cars and Coffee Car Show on Saturday, April 4th from 8am to 2pm.

Mark Muller and the team at Max Motors are expecting over 100 vehicles from all over, cars, trucks and SUV’s of all makes and models. Lunch of hamburgers and hot dogs will be provided for everyone attending.

Registration begins at 8am and ends at 10 with judging beginning at 10am and ends at 1pm, judging all done by people’s choice voting, with categories like best modern, best truck, best classic pre-1980, longest distance, best motorcycle and the Max Motors Award.

St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: Misdemeanor warrant arrest

Timothy Specker
On March 18, Timothy Specker, 49, Marshall, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on a misdemeanor charge of driving while revoked. The warrant was issued in June 2011 and stems from an incident in September 2010. Bond is set at $500 cash only.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest Report: Man arrested in Bates County on Belton P.D. Warrant

On 3/18/14 around 9:45 a.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 47 year old Jerry R. Lindsay of Ionia, Mo.

He was arrested on 1.) Misdemeanor arrest warrant from the Belton Police Department. 


Mr. Lindsay was booked into the Bates County Jail and is currently listed as bond able.

Obituary - Rosie Anderson

Funeral services for Rosie Anderson will be 10 a.m. Friday, March 20, 2015 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. There is no visitation. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to St. Jude Children's Mercy Hospital. 

Doris Rosalee Anderson, age 85 of Butler, Missouri died Tuesday, March 17, 2015 at Overland Park Regional Medical Center in Overland Park, Kansas. She was born January 28, 1930 to Francis Urvin and Alpha Ada Berkebile Taylor in Ballard, Missouri.

Rosie is survived by cousins and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Sam in 1999; and one sister, Mary Burton.

Missouri meat company issues recall on Buffalo Jerky

WARRENSBURG, Mo- Alewel's Country Meats is recalling 134 pounds of meat products. The Buffalo Jerky was produced using the wrong inspection legend.

The Buffalo Jerky has a "Use by Date" of April 2nd, May 11th or June 12th. The 12-lbs., 26-lbs. and 96-lbs. vacuum sealed packages are included in the recall.

No health problems have been reported.


The products subject to recall bear the establishment number “EST. 5766” inside the USDA mark of inspection. These items produced were shipped to retail locations in Missouri.

The problem was discovered during verification activities by FSIS personnel.

FSIS and the company have received no reports of adverse reactions due to consumption of these products. Anyone concerned about an injury or illness should contact a healthcare provider.

FSIS routinely conducts recall effectiveness checks to verify recalling firms notify their customers of the recall and that steps are taken to make certain that the product is no longer available to consumers. Monthly Dance at Old Butler Highschool

BATES COUNTY, Mo - The 4th Saturday of each month features Dinner and Dancing at the Old Butler High School and Youth Center. The public is invited for an $8.00 cover charge and a covered dish. This month the featured band will be the,“ Country Oaks Band”.


The band is made up of Wayne Harclerode on Steel, Rodney Cunningham on Base Guitar, Pete Howard – Lead Guitar, Saleem Elahi on Drums and Paul Moudy on Key-Board.

The doors open at 5 pm, with dinner at 6 pm followed by musical entertainment and dancing at 7 pm.

After expenses, the balance of the proceeds will go to help with School Scholarships in our area. The monthly dance is held at 308 Havanah Street in Butler.

Hume Community News 3/16/15

The Community of Hume wishes to extend their sympathy to the family of Tom Murray, long time resident just south of Hume. He will be greatly missed by family and friends.

The Community also wishes to extend their sympathy to the family of Flo Jones, former resident of Hume. She will also be greatly missed by family and friends. Our thoughts and prayers go out to both of these families.

On March 7 a birthday party was held for Easton Wooldridge 2nd birthday in Nevada, MO. The party was hosted by his parents, Ryan and Cathie Irwin Wooldridge. A host of family and friends enjoyed supper, cake and ice cream and of course lots of presents.

The card shower held for Mildred McGee was a huge success. The stack of cards she received put a big smile on her face. She appreciated all the card and notes so much. They will be read many times over.

The Annual Lion’s Pancake Supper is this Saturday, March 21 from 4:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m., at the Community Center in Hume. Come out and help this awesome club that does a lot of good in our community and surrounding area. If you or your children have ever played ball out at the ball park now is the time to come and thank them and support the Pancake Supper.

Save the date for the Annual Hume Fair and Rodeo to be held July 28 through August 1, 2015. This year’s theme is “Join the Country Stampede at the Hume Fair and Rodeo”. We are looking for Prince and Princess Candidates between the ages of 5 years old and 11 years old. Rodeo Queen Candidates need to be between 12 years old to 18 years old.
