St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: Calves reported stolen


On March 19, a St. Clair County deputy took a stealing complaint on SE 601 Road, Collins. Rick Mitchell reported two bull calves missing and one heifer missing. Mitchell said the calves were a week to ten days old and solid red in color. The total value of the calves was estimated at $1,800. The investigation is ongoing.

2 teens involved in Vernon County Crash

A Richards,Missouri teenager escaped serious injury in a two vehicle accident Thursday evening in Vernon County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the accident occurred at about 5:45 P.M. Thursday evening on 1700 Road, 2 miles South of Nevada, in Vernon County, involving a 1998 Toyota 4-Runner driven by 17 year old Megan Payne. 

The accident occurred when the Payne vehicle was traveling Northbound when she was struck by a 2006 Hyundai Elantra driven by 17 year old Holton Witte, of Moundville,Missouri after he crossed the center of the road on a sharp curve and struck the Payne vehicle. 

Megan Payne was listed with minor injuries and saught treatment on her own. 

Holton Witte was listed with moderate injuries and transported to Nevada Regional Medical Center.

Cass County Crash Thursday afternoon sends Harrisonville teen to the hospital

On 3/19/15 around 3:15 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a 1 vehicle accident on Eastbound Orient Cemetery Road just West of Camp Branch Road in rural Eastern Harrisonville.


The accident occurred when the 2004 Ford Ranger driven by 17 year old Tryston P. Jackson of Harrisonville, Missouri slid off the North side of the roadway while attempting to avoid another vehicle. The truck then returned to the roadway, overturned and came to rest on its top.

Mr. Jackson received moderate injuries in this accident and was taken to Research Medical Center in Kansas City, Missouri by Central Cass County EMS. The truck was totaled and towed from the scene by Stevers Tow.

City of Butler names new City Administrator


On Tuesday night March 17th, The Butler City Council voted unanimously to appoint Casey Koehn to the City Administrator position.

Mrs. Koehn has gladly accepted the position and will do the best job that she can for the Mayor, Council, employees and citizens of Butler. Casey Koehn was currently the City Clerk and acting City Administrator.

Reminder: City of Butler Scheduled Power Outage

The City of Butler is scheduling a power outage on March 26th, 2015 between the hours of 11:00 p.m.to Midnight. 

The purpose of this outage is for routine maintenance of the generation equipment at the City of Butler Electric Generation Plant.

The Electric disruption should be limited to a few minutes. The City of Butler would like to apologize for any inconvenience, and thank you for your patience in this matter.
