Here comes the rain...

Things might get a little loud during the overnight hours as storms move in from the south. Rain chances increase to about 70% after midnight with an overnight low around 45. You'll probably need a jacket as you head out to work tomorrow. There are currently no watches or warnings in effect, we'll keep you posted if any significant weather develops.

Yet another phone scam going 'round...

It appears that some local folks have been getting calls from a 402 area code and the caller identifies them self as being with the American Chamber of Commerce. And obviously, wanting a 'donation' to further their cause.

This is not related to or affiliated with the Butler Chamber of Commerce or any other Chamber Offices in our area.

If you get such a call, do not give them any information and hang up.

Now, get outside and enjoy the weather!

At 11:19 a.m., Wednesday April 1, the Clinton Fire Department was dispatched to a report of a structure fire at 210 East Ohio St. Upon arrival, Firefighters reported heavy fire and smoke conditions at the rear of the residence. A second and third alarm was requested for additional personnel to respond.

The fire started on the exterior patio area and quickly burned up the exterior wall and into the first floor portion of the residence and into the attic space. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the fire on the first floor and exterior and then began trying to get into the attic area.

Firefighters encountered zero visibility and high heat conditions on the second floor but were able to make entry into the attic space and begin extinguishing the fire in the attic.

Firefighters were on scene until approximately 4:30 p.m., extinguishing hot spots. The residents were not home at the time the fire started and the Clinton Fire Department reported no injuries to any Fire Department personnel.
