Obituary - Stella Marie Sallee

Stella Marie Sallee, 84, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at Crown Care Center in Harrisonville. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 13, 2015 at the United Methodist Church in Harrisonville, with visitation from 9:30-10:30 at the church. Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to the United Methodist Church Buliding Fund. Second search warrant in Moundville turns up second lab‏

A second search warrant was served in the Moundville area at a residence on South 850 road just Southwest of Moundville Wednesday afternoon by the Vernon County Sheriff’s Office and the CNET Drug Task Force. According to Vernon County Officials, investigators seized what they believe to be methamphetamines, drug paraphernalia and a meth lab from the residence during the raid. According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, two people were taken into custody during the search warrant. “We took two people into custody and received arrest warrants for both people Thursday evening” said Mosher. Felony arrest warrants were issued for Randall W Guilford, 57 of Moundville and Debra J Mccune, 59 of Moundville, for Distribution/Manufacturing of a Controlled Substance, and Unlawful Use of Drug Paraphernalia.

The Sheriff said he could not release any details about the case on Tuesday when they recovered a meth lab in Moundville but said he could now confirm both residences were part of an overall investigation. Certified lab technicians with the Sheriff’s Office were called out to safely remove the chemicals found during the search. “This was the second lab we recovered this week and I’m pleased we were able to do so without anyone getting hurt” said the Sheriff. Both Guilford, and Mccune are being held in the Vernon County Jail with a $25,000 cash only bond each.

• Can effectively represent MAFP and the specialty of Family Medicine by presenting a good public image

• Exemplifies the family physician’s leadership role in 

improving the health of our state.

Eligible nominees must be in active practice, spend at least 50% of their time in direct patient care, be a Missouri Academy of Family Physicians member in good standing, be board certified in family medicine, be in practice at least ten years since completing residency training.

The Missouri Family Physician of the Year will be announced in mid-June.

UPDATE: Missing man from Collins located alive and responsive

An 83 year-old man who was reported missing in the Collins area was located alive and responsive during a search on Thursday afternoon, April 9. St. Clair County deputies and members of area fire departments located Leslie "Dan" Besser an estimated 150 yards south of his residence in thick brush. 

Mr. Besser was transported by ambulance to Citizens Memorial Hospital, Bolivar, Missouri. He is expected to make a full recovery.

Copper stolen from cell phone tower in St. Clair County

On April 9, a St. Clair County deputy took a report from a Verizon Wireless representative in reference to stolen copper from a cell phone tower. 

The representative stated sometime between October 2014 and February 2015 approximately $1,500 worth of copper grounding line and bus bar were stolen from Verizon’s wireless cell phone tower located at NE 775 Road, Osceola.

On April 9, Allen Wolf, 43, Collins, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class A misdemeanor of assault-third degree. The charge stems from an incident on April 15, 2014. The warrant was issued on April 28, 2014. Bond is set at $1,000 cash or suret

On April 9, Billy Wood III, 26, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class D felony of non support. The charge stems from an incident in May 2012. Bond is set at$5,000 cash/surety.

Butler Police seeking information on cat found shot with a arrow in Butler

If anyone knows who shot a cat with an arrow, or hears someone bragging about it please contact the Butler Police Department at 660-679-6131 or the TIPS hotline at 660-200-2000. This cat was found still alive by a young child yesterday on Thompson St with the arrow still in it. The Animal Control officer was able to get the arrow out of the cat. The cat is currently healing at a vet clinic in town.
