R & C’s Blackhawk’s Station in Adrian Now Open

ADRIAN, MO - The Adrian Quick Tour Convenience and Gas Station is under new ownership. R.C. Cumpton a 32 year resident of Adrian and an Adrian High School Graduate has purchased the business. He and Carrie will be the new Owners and Operators.

The Business will now be known as R & C’s Blackhawk’s Station. Remodeling is underway and a Grand Opening is scheduled later in the month.

R & C’s Blackhawk’s Station will be open 7 days each week with extended hours of Friday, Saturday and Sunday hours from 7 am until 9 pm.

The business is located just off the Adrian Overpass. This business is a Phillip’s 66 Station offering convenience items, gas, and is making plans for a hot roller grill, hot sandwiches and nacho’s.

Weather Update: Storms approaching from the West

A line of storms stretching from the Omaha area to western Oklahoma continues to head Eastward, and will reach far northwest Missouri by 10-10:30 PM. 

Storms will eventually begin to transition southeast along the cold front, reaching the KC area after 2 AM. 

Although a few storms are severe now, their intensity will wane a bit as storms move East.

John F. Allin, 80, Drexel, Missouri, died Sunday, April 12, 2015 in Adrian, Missouri. Services are pending at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri.

Weather Update: More storms this evening

Round 2 of Thunderstorms rolling in tonight. Here is the latest thoughts on timing. Generally, they will be moving in around midnight, and moving out by sunrise. Expect some small hail, gusty winds, and maybe up to an inch or so of rain.

Weather Update: Stormy Saturday Night

Here is the expected timing of the T-storms Saturday night and Sunday. The first round will come in early Sunday morning, then maybe a lull before another round of T-storms on Sunday evening and Sunday night.

Most of these storms will be sub-severe, but a few could be strong to severe, with small hail and gusty winds being the most likely hazards.

Jacquline “Jackie” Carpenter, 72, of Drexel, MO. passed away Friday, April 10th, 2015 at her home in Drexel. Butler Public Library: NASA Activity tomorrow

The Butler Public Library will host its big NASA Activity is tomorrow-Saturday April 11th 10:00-2:00 at the
Butler High School Gym Lobby. There will be hands-on activities, planetarium, meteorites, edible black holes, the Design Team from Missouri S & T will be there with some of their creative displays and a tour of the new PTLW Engineering Lab that includes a 3D printer.

This is a FREE event and is open to everyone, especially children. DOOR PRIZES

Saturday evening 7:30-10:00 p.m. there will be a STAR PARTY at the library. We are hoping for a clear skies, so we can view the night sky with telescopes. Please bring lawn chairs or a blanket to sit on.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest Report: Lees Summit man arrested

On 4/10/15 around 7:10 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 44 year old Michael K. Peck of Lees Summit, Missouri.

Mr. Peck was arrested for 1.) Driving while intoxicated 2.) Speeding. 


He was booked into the Bates County Jail and later released.
