Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest Report: Clinton man arrested

On 4/22/15 around 10:00 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 34 year old Antonio F. Hernandez of Clinton, Missouri.

Mr. Hernandez was arrested on 1.) Misdemeanor Cass County Warrant 2.) Misdemeanor Henry County Warrant 3.) Misdemeanor Clinton Police Department warrant 4.) Misdemeanor Benton County Warrant.


He was booked into the Bates County Jail and his status is currently listed as bond able.

Missouri State Highway Patrol Arrest Report: Schell City woman arrested

The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County arrested 25 year old Brandi M. Corbin tonight after a motor vehicle accident just East of Schell City.

She was arrested for 1.) Driving while intoxicated 2.) Failure to drive on the right side of the roadway 3.) Fail to register a motor vehicle 4.) No insurance 5.) No seatbelt.


She wasn't booked into jail because she was released to seek medical attention for her injuries she received in the accident.





Schell City woman injured in Vernon County Crash

On 4/22/15 around 5:10 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County responded to a 1 vehicle accident 1 mile East of Schell City on Highway RA in rural Vernon County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1994 Pontiac Grand Prix driven by 25 year old Brandi M. Corbin of Schell City, Missouri was Eastbound when her vehicle left the roadway, struck a culvert, overturned and landed in a creek.


She was taken by Ambulance to Nevada Regional Medical Center with moderate injuries. 


The Vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene Steward's Wrecker Service.

Louisburg Kansas man arrested in Cass County

On 4/22/15 around 6:00 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County arrested 32 year old Jeremy L. Oehlert of Louisburg, Kansas.


Mr.Oehlert was arrested on 1.) Felony possession of a controlled substance 2.) Possession of Marijuana 3.) Careless and imprudent driving resulting in a accident 4.) Driving while intoxicated.

He was booked into the Belton City Jail and later released.




Vehicle Fire 2 miles South of Virginia

The Amoret Fire Department along with the Bates County Sheriffs Office is in route to a car fire on V Highway around 2 miles South of 52 Highway in the Virginia area.

All the information we have at this time is a green passenger car that is fully engulfed in flames at this time.

Attempt to locate Stolen vehicle out of Calhoun Missouri

The Henry County Sheriffs Office is attempting to locate a stolen 2001 Ford Taurus silver in color that was stolen around 7:00 a.m. this morning in Calhoun, Missouri.

The License plate on the vehicle is UJ5-L7M out of Missouri.

Obituary- Jerry Wayne Fisher

Funeral services for Jerry Fisher will be 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, 2015 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Jerry Jenkins officiating. Visitation will be from 5 - 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 28 at the Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery in Butler, Missouri. A visitation and funeral service has been conducted in Valdosta, Georgia.

Jerald Wayne (Jerry) Fisher, age 69 of Valdosta, Georgia died Sunday, April 19, 2015 at South Georgia Medical Center. He was born on January 24, 1946 to Billy L. and Dorothy Louise Snyder Fisher in Butler, Missouri.

Jerry grew up on a farm in Passaic, Missouri and later the family moved to Butler, just a few miles away. He had sheep to raise and won ribbons for baking angel food cakes as a child. As a teenager he ran track for Butler High School and still holds a record for relay. He also played football at Butler. He graduated in 1964 with honors. He then attended the University of Missouri, School of Forestry, graduating in 1968 number one academically in his class and was an active member of the honorary national fraternity of Zi Sigma Pi. He and Sherry Jenkins of Adrian, Missouri were married in 1966. They moved to Arkansas where Jerry was a Forester for Georgia-Pacific, then to East Texas when the company was divided and became Louisiana-Pacific. He became a successful Procurement Forester and was recruited in 1988 by the Langdale Company for procurement of timber for the new Langboard Mill near Quitman, Georgia. He was very successful in this position for 15 years. His recent years were spent as a purchasing agent for Brooks Welding of Valdosta. The Fishers have one son, Gabe and two grandsons, Ty and Luke all of Valdosta. He was an active member of First Baptist Church of Valdosta, and especially liked working in First Baptist's large and productive Food Ministry. Jerry enjoyed many hunting trips in younger days and he, Sherry and Gabe have had wonderful international trips. He was an avid Civil War scholar and collected many authentic relics. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and Christian.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Sherry; one son, Gabe; and two grandsons, Ty and Luke, all of Valdosta, Georgia. He is also survived by his mother, Louise and a brother, Jim both of Butler, Missouri. He was preceded in death by a baby brother, Jackie; his father, Billy; and a sister-in-law, George Ann Kappel Fisher.

Public Announcement from the Butler Police Department

As of April 21, 2015 the Butler Police Department will no longer be a drop-off for unused or unwanted medication of any kind.

The Bates County Sheriffs Office is is currently working with the Butler Police Department  on fixing this problem and continuing this great drug take back program for the community.
