Butler High School Honor Day Awards Recipients

Fair Butler Queen Lacy Craft
Butler High School’s 2015 Honor’s Day Coronation took place on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 where Senior Lacy Craft was crowned Fair Butler Queen, daughter of Kelly and DeAnn Craft. Her escort was Gage Shearer, son of Scott Shearer and Bridget Miller. 











  
Best Boy and Girl Citizen Tessa Tolle and
Garrett Wainscott

 Junior Tessa Tolle was awarded Best  Girl Citizen  and Senior Garrett  Wainscott was awarded Best Boy  Citizen. 

 Tessa is the daughter of Steven and  Kim Tolle  and  Garrett is the son of  Annie Wainscott and the late  Darin  Wainscott. 
















Butlerite Queen Drea Shreve-Setzer



The Butlerite winners were Queen Drea Shreve-Setzer and King Tyson Bennett Drea is the daughter of Brad Shreve and Jamie Setzer. 

Tyson is the son of Clint and Jenne Bennett. Butlerite pictures were taken by Bartz Photography and judging was done by Melissa Stevens of the Patricia Stevens College.

Butler Water Department: Street closed in Butler

The Butler Water Department will have a area of West Street between Grove and Pine Street closed this evening as they make repairs. Unknown the amount of time this will be closed, please find a alternate route.

Woman injured in Henry County Crash

One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident on May 7 in Henry County on Highway 7 around 200 feet west of County Road NW 401.

Gwendolyn M. Lovgrin, 83, Camdenton,Missouri wearing a seat belt, southbound in a 2015 Lincoln, traveled off the roadway. The vehicle then struck a tree.

Gwendolyn M. Lovgrin experienced moderate injuries and was transported by Golden Valley EMS to Research Hospital. Her vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene by Golden Valley Towing.

Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper T.R. Wright investigated the accident.

Springfield man arrested in Cass County

Joseph R. Donoho
On 5/7/15 around 1:57 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County arrested 23 year old Joseph R. Donoho of Springfield, Missouri.

Mr. Donoho was arrested on:


  • 1.)Felony Greene County Missouri Warrant- DWR 
  • 2.)Felony Greene County Warrant -DWI 
  • 3.)Misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance
  •  4.)Misdemeanor Driving while revoked 
  • 5.)Misdemeanor Greene County Warrant - DWR 
  • 6.) Misdemeanor Greene County Warrant - DWR 
  • 7.) Misdemeanor Greene County Warrant - Fail to yield.

Mr. Donoho was booked into the Cass County Jail.

Belton woman seriously injured in Cass County crash

Around 2:20 p.m. this afternoon the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a 1 vehicle accident on Route Y just South of 195th Street in rural Cass County.

The accident occurred when the 1997 Toyota Camry driven by 23 year old Christina C. Johnson of Belton, Missouri was South bound when she traveled off the roadway, over corrected down a embankment and struck a creek.


She was taken by Belton EMS to Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri with serious injuries.

Drexel woman escapes injury in Cass County Accident

On 5/7/15 around 2:28 p.m. The Missouri State Highway in Cass County responded to a 2 vehicle accident at North Cass Parkway and I-49.

The accident occurred when the 2000 Dodge driven by 29 year old Merrissa E. Chapman of Peculiar, Missouri turned into the path of the 2007 Buick Driven by 70 year old Dinah S. Romi of Drexel,Missouri striking the vehicle in the side.


Merrissa E. Chapman had minor injuries in this accident and was taken by South Metro EMS to Truman East Medical Center in Kansas City, Mo.


Dinah Romi wasn't injured in this accident, The vehicles both received moderate damage and was towed by the scene by Johnsons Tow.


Both women were wearing seatbelts.

Butler Police Department: 2 warrant arrests in Butler

Brandy J. Mayfield
On 5/7/15 The Butler Police Department responded to 113 S. Fulton Street in Butler to pick up Brandy J. Mayfield on a Butler city arrest warrant.

While the officer was arresting Mayfield he made contact with a unknown white male subject that was at the residence. 


After speaking to Mayfield at the Butler Police Station she identified the unknown white male as Christopher Ryan Kuone of Butler, Missouri.




Chris R. Kuone
Mr. Kuone had a $20,000 Warrant out of Bates County for dangerous drugs X2 and a Camden County no bond warrant for Domestic Assault in the 3rd degree.

Brandy J. Mayfield posted bond and was released, Christopher Kuone was transported to the Bates County Memorial Hospital with a foot injury and will be booked in to the Bates County Jail when he is done with medical treatment.

Obituary - David Day Willhoite

David Day Willhoite, 85, died Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in Peculiar, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, May 11, 2015 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, Missouri with visitation from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Burial will be in Sharon Cemetery in Drexel, Missouri. Memorial contributions may be made to Blessed Trinity Hospice or Wounded Warriors.
