PITTSBURG, KANSAS - Pittsburg is excited to welcome Mike Wolfe, Frank Fritz and Antique Archaeology to the area. The team will film episodes of their hit series AMERICAN PICKERS throughout Eastern Kansas. Filming will begin next month.
AMERICAN PICKERS is a documentary series that explores the fascinating world of antique ‘picking' on History. This hit show follows two of the most skilled pickers in the business, Mike Wolfe and Frank Fritz, as they embark on an epic road trip across the U.S. in search of America's most valuable antiques from motorcycles, classic cars and bicycles to one-of-a-kind vintage memorabilia. Mike and Frank are on a mission to recycle America, restore forgotten relics to their former glory, and learn a thing or two about American history along the way.
Filming is scheduled to start next month. AMERICAN PICKERS is looking for leads and would love to explore what you may have. They are on the hunt for interesting characters with interesting and unique items. Some of what they look for: vintage bicycles, toys, unusual radios, movie memorabilia, advertising, military items, folk art, vintage musical equipment, vintage automotive items, early firefighting equipment, vintage clothing, pre-50's western gear.

Power Outage in Butler
Several families in the city of Butler are without power at this time. Unknown the cause of the power outage but crews are working to restore the power as quick as possible.
The stoplights at Ft. Scott and Orange Streets in Butler have been knocked out due to this power outage. Please use caution when traveling in this area.

Carthage man arrested in Bates County
On 5/7/15 around 10:15 pm. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County arrested 29 year old Michael E. Engstrom of Carthage, Missouri.
Mr. Engstrom was arrested on 1.)Driving while Intoxicated ( Drugs) - Prior Offender. He was booked into the Bates County Jail and placed on a 12 hour hold.

Butler High School Honor Day Awards Recipients

Butler High School’s 2015 Honor’s Day Coronation took place on Wednesday, May 6, 2015 where Senior Lacy Craft was crowned Fair Butler Queen, daughter of Kelly and DeAnn Craft. Her escort was Gage Shearer, son of Scott Shearer and Bridget Miller.
Junior Tessa Tolle was awarded Best Girl Citizen and Senior Garrett Wainscott was awarded Best Boy Citizen.
Tessa is the daughter of Steven and Kim Tolle and Garrett is the son of Annie Wainscott and the late Darin Wainscott.
The Butlerite winners were Queen Drea Shreve-Setzer and King Tyson Bennett Drea is the daughter of Brad Shreve and Jamie Setzer.
Tyson is the son of Clint and Jenne Bennett. Butlerite pictures were taken by Bartz Photography and judging was done by Melissa Stevens of the Patricia Stevens College.

Butler Water Department: Street closed in Butler
The Butler Water Department will have a area of West Street between Grove and Pine Street closed this evening as they make repairs. Unknown the amount of time this will be closed, please find a alternate route.
Woman injured in Henry County Crash
One person was injured in a one-vehicle accident on May 7 in Henry County on Highway 7 around 200 feet west of County Road NW 401.
Gwendolyn M. Lovgrin, 83, Camdenton,Missouri wearing a seat belt, southbound in a 2015 Lincoln, traveled off the roadway. The vehicle then struck a tree.
Gwendolyn M. Lovgrin experienced moderate injuries and was transported by Golden Valley EMS to Research Hospital. Her vehicle was totaled and removed from the scene by Golden Valley Towing.
Missouri Highway Patrol Trooper T.R. Wright investigated the accident.
