Kansas City Royals win weekend series with the Bronx Bombers

The Kansas City Royals beat the New York Yankees today by a score of  6-0 in the final game of the weekend series which the Royals won 2-1.

The Royals are now 24-13 on the year and are currently in first place in the AL Central Division with Detroit (23-14) still to play in St. Louis tonight .

Kansas City will be off tomorrow before playing 2 games at home against the Cincinnati Reds Tuesday May 19th and Wednesday May 20th both games starting at 7:10 p.m. 

This next weekend will be the much anticipated I-70 Series with the St. Louis Cardinals starting on Friday May 22nd at 7:10 p.m. at the K!

A Flood Warning has been issued from The South Grand River at Urich, Missouri until further notice. 

The Bates County Sheriffs Office wants to remind everyone DO NOT Drive through flowing/running water.

Osage Valley Electric working hard after strong storms come through the area overnight

Osage Valley Electric Cooperative Crews are currently working on outages scattered across our service territory. 

We currently have a little over 300 people without power at this time.

The crews are working hard to get repairs made and power restored as quickly as possible.

Obituary - Betty Lou Gillis

Graveside services for Betty Gillis will be 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2015 at Scott Cemetery in Amsterdam, Missouri with Pastor Ron Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be prior to services from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri. Contributions in lieu of flowers to Scott Cemetery.

Betty Lou Gillis, age 86 of Adrian, Missouri died Friday, May 15, 2015 at her home in Adrian. She was born April 23, 1929 to Claude Lester and Annie Mae Moles Hannah in Bates County, Missouri.

Betty is survived by three sons, Loyd Gillis of Rich Hill, Missouri, Lester Gillis and wife Marsha and Dale Gillis, all of Adrian, Missouri; two daughters, Joan Moss and husband Larry of North Kansas City, Missouri and Ruby Harris and husband Wilburn of Drexel, Missouri; one brother, Donald Hannah and wife Betty of Clinton, Missouri; one sister, Helen Earl of Harrisonville, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 6 great great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one brother, Russell Hannah; two sisters, Mary Livingston and Shirley James; and one grandson Harold Pauldean Gillis.

1 vehicle accident in Butler

Around 11:20 a.m. This Afternoon The Butler Police Department along with the Butler Fire Department responded to a 1 vehicle accident at 505 East Mill Street in Butler.

The female driver was taken to the Bates County Memorial for treatment for her injuries.

Clinton Police Department Arrest Report

  • 23 year old Franklin Alex Keith of Clinton was arrested Thursday at 5:18am at Rogers and Water streets for a felony warrant from another jurisdiction.
  • 22 year old Colton James Kelly of Clinton was arrested at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital Thursday at 11:43am for felony resisting arrest.
  • On Thursday at 1:05pm at the Golden Valley Medical Plaza, 23 year old Kristina Kay Nall of Clinton was arrested for failing to appear upon arrest and summons.
  • 25 year old Austin Eugene Green of Clinton was arrested Friday at 12:10am at Kristine and Katherine avenues for Clinton municipal warrants.

Kingsville Man injured in Cass County Motorcycle Crash

On 5/15/15 around 1:50 p.m. The Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a 1 vehicle accident on Westbound Route W, 0.5 miles West of Route E in Rural Cass County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2013 Victory Motorcycle driven by 57 year old John R. Greer of Kingsville, Missouri was Westbound on Route W when he struck a patch of mowed grass in the roadway, losing control of the motorcycle and overturning before being ejected from the motorcycle.


Mr. Greer was taken by ambulance to Centerpoint Hospital in Pleasant Hill, Missouri with moderate injuries. The bike was totaled a towed from the scene by Stevers Tow.
