Weather Update: Looking at a wet holiday weekend

Enjoy today and Friday, as the potential for rain will begin to increase Friday night through the weekend. Expect scattered showers and thunderstorms to bubble up late Friday night through the day Saturday, with widespread storms expected to develop Saturday night through Sunday, with more stormy activity possible Memorial Day and going into the rest of the work week.

The severe potential does not look very good with this weekends expected storms, but there is more than sufficient moisture out there to cause problems with flooding late in the Holiday Weekend as rainfall totals pile up.

Poplar Heights Living History Farm's Summer Festival

Metal cresting restored on the Seelinger Home at Poplar Heights Living History Farm

Metal Cresting restored on Seelinger Home
Many decades ago when the roof on the Seelinger Home at Poplar Heights Living History Farm was being re-roofed, the metal cresting was removed and stored away.

It was made at the turn of the century by Norman Tin Works of Nevada, MO. It has now been restored and attached to the roof of the house.

Similar cresting will be replaced on the barn as part of restoration of the cupola and the ridgeline, damaged by a passing tornado.

Poplar Heights Living History Farm is located on East of Butler on H Highway to UU Highway North until the pavement ends. Turn right onto county Rd. 5004 going East.

Go past fields about 1 mile and you will see parking sign.
