Weather Update: Stormy Sunday?

While Sunday morning will likely be dry across eastern Kansas and Missouri the afternoon hours likely won’t be. Forecast is for a modest frontal boundary to settle south Sunday, which by the afternoon hours will set the stage for strong to severe thunderstorm development across the region. Hail and strong winds are the primary severe weather threats for Sunday, but recent torrential rains have left the region moist and primed for more flooding with any storms that occur.

Otherwise, expect conditions to remain warm and humid for the beginning of the work week with the next chance for rain after Sunday looking to be in the mid to late work week periods.
