The June month was full of birthdays, on Saturday, June 27 a host of family and friends celebrated the 7th birthday of Miss Kenzee Snider at the home of her great-grandparents in Adrian hosted by her Mother, Erika Snider and family. The kids enjoyed swimming, hot dogs, cake and ice cream and lots of presents.

On Sunday, June 28th Ryland Austin celebrated his 2nd birthday at the Hume City Park hosted by his parents Ryan and Hannah with a cook-out, cake, ice cream and lots of presents. A host of family and friends enjoyed the afternoon.

Reasons beyond my control a couple of weeks ago, I reported that my grandson Isaac Irwin had his 8th birthday party. Well this is a retraction he only turned 7 years old! I guess I am trying to make him older than he is.

Tina Conner of Lind, Washington and her daughter Maria of Oregon visited from June 25 to June 30 in Hume with a family and friends. Saturday they enjoyed visiting with family who stopped by the home of Tina’s mother, Esther Irwin. Later they went by the firework stand to visit with her brother, Everett. On Sunday afternoon a cookout was held at the home of her daughter and family, Donna, Jeff, Michael and Emily Wadel North of Hume. Those attending were Esther Irwin, Braxton and Harriet Irwin, Mark Irwin, Terry Irwin, Clinton and Jessica Irwin, Barrett and Kasen, Vernon Brooks, Carrie Irwin, Michala, Marissa, Avery and Wyatt, Renee’ Morales, Ira Conner, Donna Jacobs, C. J. Ballard, Karen Irwin, Easton Wooldridge and Bob Adams It was good to see Tina and Maria and hopefully it won’t be so long next time. They hadn’t been back since 1999.

A birthday party was held for Cleo Whitten in honor of her 101st birthday on July 5 at the Prescott CountryView Nursing Home. Those helping her to celebrate were her niece from Pittsburg, KS. Her daughter, Linda Wymore and friend Dale Neal, Shane and Tonya Jacobs, Hannah Gorda, Scott, Emilee & Logen Spencer, Troop and Ellen Whitten, Cody and Whitney Worsley, Wyatt and Cole, Tommy Whitten and Jamee Fillpot. Happy Birthday, Cleo!

The Hume Fair is right around the corner. Rodeo Queen Candidates Jessica Willerton and Michala Lantsberger are busy selling Rodeo Tickets and Colt Tickets. Prince Candidate Nate Harris and Princess Candidates Kallie Irwin, Dalley Steuck and Evie-Lyn Lewis are busy selling tickets on $350.00 worth of prizes. These kids are working hard so be sure and help them out if you can when they stop by and ask you. Hope you see you at the Hume Fair and Rodeo July 28 through August 1.
