Severe Thunderstorm Watch Cancelled for Bates County

The National Weather Service has cancelled the Severe Thunderstorm for Bates County that was suppose to last until 1 am Tuesday morning.

Significant Weather Advisory for SW Bates County

The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a Significant weather advisory for NE Linn and South Western Bates County. 

The storm is capable of producing nickle size hail and wind gusts up to 40 MPH.

Towns that are impacted in this storm include: Amoret,Pleasanton, Hume, Rich Hill, Worland, Foster. A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1am Tuesday.

Bates County is under an Excessive Heat Warning until 9:00 p.m. tomorrow night

Bates County is under an Excessive Heat Warning until 9:00 p.m. tomorrow night. If you have to be outside, schedule frequent breaks in the shade or an air conditioned environment. 

If it is possible, reschedule strenuous activities to the early morning or late evening hours. You should try to wear light weight and loose fitting clothing. 

Drink plenty of water to keep your body hydrated.

New Pharmacy set to open in Butler soon

The recent, unexpected closure of a popular pharmacy left many folks in quite a predicament - while in contrast the Butler Walmart stepped up and has been running full tilt to help out.

Some good news? Ryan Summers of Clinton Mo. has been working steadfastly to ready a new location of Summer's Pharmacy on the Butler square.

While renovations to the building are well underway, the finishing touches of stocking and some final paperwork are the only things standing between the new pharmacy and the ever patient public...

The new store should be open within a month or so, pending delays.We will provide more information on an exact opening date with additional details soon.

Severe Thunderstorm Watch For Bates County


The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill, Missouri has issued a Severe Thunderstorm Watch effective until 1:00 a.m.Tuesday for Bates and surrounding counties.

St. Clair County Sheriffs Office: Warrant arrests

Reuben Tompkins
On July 12, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Reuben Tompkins, 21, Quincy, on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with three class A misdemeanors, possessing up to 35 grams of marijuana and two counts of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia Bond is set at $2,500.00 cash or surety. The warrant was issued on July 6 and stems from an incident with the Osceola Police Department on June 19.











Jerry Eaton
On July 8, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Jerry Eaton, 43, Osceola, on a St. Clair County warrant charging him with a class C felony of removal of manufacturer's number from a motor vehicle. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. The charge stems from an incident on May 8 when a St. Clair County deputy was attempting to locate and recover a possible stolen license plate that was on Eaton's black 1989 Chevrolet pickup truck. A license plate on the front of the truck checked back as stolen from Henry County. While checking the VIN number on the dash of the truck, the deputy observed the metal VIN tag had been tampered with. The metal rivets holding it were loose and the tag was laying loose on the dash. A check of the secondary VIN number location did not match the VIN tag on the dash.



Anita Shelton
On July 10, a St. Clair County deputy arrested Anita Shelton, 36, Lowry City, on two St. Clair County warrants for failing to pay fines on original charges of fail to register vehicle and defective equipment. Total bond was set at $ $379 cash only. The charges stem from an incident with the Osceola Police Department on March 12, 2014.

Work Will Cause Lane Closures on Southbound I-49 in Cass County

CASS COUNTY – Crews will close the right or left lanes of southbound I-49 between Route 7 and Archie, Mo. from 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily Monday, July 13 through Friday, July 17 for full depth pavement repair work. All work is weather dependent.
