Clifton L. “Cliff” Creach
The funeral service for Mr. Creach will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2016 at Hill and Son Funeral Home in Appleton City, Missouri.The minister officiating at the service will be Jerry Johannigmeier. Visitation will be from 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Sunday, January 17, 2016 at the funeral home. Interment will be in the Appleton City Cemetery, Appleton City, Missouri .

A Military Graveside Service will be presented by the Appleton City VFW Post #11242 and the Missouri Honor Guard .

The family suggests memorial donations be made to the Appleton City Cemetery or Hospice Compassus from Osceola, Missouri.
 

Clifton L. “Cliff” Creach passed away Thursday, January 14, 2016 at his home due to complications of Multiple Sclerosis. 

He was born May 3, 1948 to Jonas Charles “J.C.” and Erma D. (Parrack) Creach near Branch, Missouri. He so enjoyed growing up in rural Macks Creek, Missouri and he graduated from Macks Creek High in 1966. He enlisted in the Navy and served his country from 1967 to 1970 aboard the USS Coral Sea. He was united in marriage to Sue Hawkins and to this union one daughter was born. 


Cliff learned his trade at a technical school in Springfield, Missouri and was a self-employed heating and cooling contractor. Cliff’s customer calls were occasionally social visits as the repairs were so easy that he didn’t charge. He enjoyed playing softball with his friends for the “Bulls” even though they rarely won. He also enjoyed visiting and riding horses with his many friends. Later in life and before MS, he and Sue enjoyed the many antique show trips and new friends they made. 


Cliff most treasured his time with family. He was preceded in death by his father, and his brother Charles. He is survived by his wife Sue, of the home, his mother, Erma D of Hermitage, Missouri, one daughter Lisa Creach Bolton (Loren) of Appleton City and one son Culley Creach (Collette) of Linn Creek, one sister Deborah Creach Allen (Nelson) of Urbana, Missouri, three grandchildren, Clifton Blake Bolton (Ashley), Jonas, and Stephanie Creach of Linn Creek, Missouri, two great-grandchildren Jaiden and Luke James Bolton. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews and friends. 


The family would like to acknowledge their deep appreciation for the compassionate care and companionship from Mindy Evans. The family would also like to thank all the many caretakers from Four Seasons, Hospice Compassus and others.








UPDATE: Warrants issued after Vernon County Pursuit

Multiple felony charges have been issued in Vernon County for Cody Boyd including assault on LEO, armed criminal action, resisting with arrest, and tampering with a motor vehicle. 

Total bonds have been set by the courts at $100,000.00 cash only.

The passenger has been identified as Michael Edmunds  who was arrested for multiple misdemeanor warrants.


Total bond set at $1,500 cash or suety.

Donald Wayne Daggett, Sr., age 52, of Nevada, MO, passed from this life on January 14, 2016 at his home. He was born September 8, 1963 in Nevada, the son of Floyd and Mildred Daggett, both of whom have preceded him in death.

“Donnie” as he was known attended school in Nevada graduating with the Class of 1981 where he served as manager of the Nevada Tiger football team. For greater than fifteen years he was Owner/Operator of D & L Taxi in Nevada. He was well known for his caring personality and sense of humor - - - he was quite a comedian. When the weather was bad or people were down on their luck he would provide a cab ride free of charge for those in need. He enjoyed model trains in his spare time.

Survivors include his children, Kimberly Daggett of Fayetteville, AR; Pearl Daggett and Donald Daggett, Jr. both of Nevada; twin brother, Ron Daggett and brother, Floyd Daggett; nephews, David and “Dozer”; along with other extended family members and friends.

A Memorial Service for Donald Wayne Daggett, Sr. will be held at 3:00 p.m. Monday, January 18, 2016 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada, MO. A visitation is scheduled from 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. just prior to the service also at the funeral home. Interment will follow at a later date in Moore Cemetery in Nevada, MO.

Those who wish may contribute to a fund for the family in care of Ferry Funeral Home.


 

Two arrested in pursuit, vehicle catches on fire, almost goes over a cliff in Vernon County

A lengthy pursuit ended with two people being arrested after the driver failed to stop for a Sheriff’s Deputy. According to Sheriff’s Office officials, the vehicle fled when a deputy attempted to make a traffic stop on Washington and Walnut in Nevada. 

The pursuit lead deputy’s south of Nevada where a passenger fled on foot from the vehicle and was apprehended by a second deputy that was helping in the pursuit. 

The driver then continued to flee in the vehicle. Additional deputies and the Missouri State Highway Patrol were called in to assist. According to Vernon County Sheriff Jason Mosher, the vehicle fled east on K highway before turning onto gravel. 

The pursuit ended when the vehicle drove into a driveway in the area of 2750 and Quartermaster and lost control. “The car almost went off of a small cliff but was stopped when it hit a small tree” said Mosher.
 


The Sheriff said deputies broke out the windows of the car to get the driver out who was still resisting. “She wouldn’t come out of the car even though it was on fire at the time and hanging off of a cliff.

” Mosher said the driver has been identified as Cody Jo Boyd, 30 of Nevada. Boyd had an active felony warrant for failure to obey a judge’s order.

Suspected methamphetamine's were also found in the vehicle. The name of the passenger has not been released pending the filing of formal charges. 


The Sheriff said his office will be applying for additional charges in this case.

Funeral services for Rosa Holland will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at Schowengerdt Funeral Chapel (660-679-6555) in Butler, Missouri with Pastor Ron Dunlap officiating. Visitation will be Friday evening from 5-7 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Oak Hill Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to Heartland Hospice or American Cancer Society.

Rosa Lee Holland, age 86 of Butler, Missouri died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 at her home in Butler. She was born November 11, 1929 to George Washington and Stella May Cauthron Osborn in Archie, Missouri.

Rosa is survived by her husband Kenneth Leroy Holland of Butler, Missouri; one son, Mike Holland and wife Jackie of Butler, Missouri; three daughters, Vickie Richmond and husband Ike of Nevada, Missouri, Terry Morris and husband Charlie of Butler, Missouri and Twila Clubb of Independence, Missouri; one brother, George Osborn Jr. and wife Joan of Ft. Scott, Kansas; nine grandchildren, Ken, Dan, Chad, Katrina, Misty, Angie, Ryan and Heather; and 23 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; one grandson, Brad Morris; one brother, Virgil; and four sisters, Florence, Helen, Dorothy and Faye.

Cass County Sheriff's Regional Academy Set to Begin Classes

The Cass County Sheriff's Office Regional Training Academy is accepting applications for their spring 2016 academy class. The deadline to apply is January 22, 2016 at 5:00 pm. The academy, which meets three nights a week and every other weekend, will allow students the opportunity to maintain outside employment during their attendance.

Henry “Bud” Dukes Bledsoe, II, Peculiar, Missouri, died Tuesday, January 12, 2016 in Kansas City, Missouri. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 16, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri with visitation from 1:00-2:00.
