Friday Flash Back: Remembering Hotel Harrisonville

In 1983, the Harrisonville square lost a longstanding landmark.

Hotel Harrisonville, which stood on the north side of the square, was nearly completely destroyed by fire.

The third floor of the building was completely destroyed, while the first and second floors sustained heavy damage, according to articles in the Democrat.

But luckily, no one was harmed in the blaze, and firemen and volunteers kept the blaze from spreading to other edifices and potentially burning down an entire section of the square.
