Nevada man arrested on drug charges

On Wednesday 7/6/16 Alexander D. Trexel 19 years old of Nevada, Missouri was arrested in Vernon County.

Mr. Trexel was charged with 1.) Class B Felony -Distribution/Delivery/ Manufacturing of a controlled substance 2.)Class C Felony Charge of tampering with a motor vehicle in the 1st degree 3.) 2- Class A Misdemeanors Possession of up to 35 grams of Marijuana and Unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

Alexander D. Trexel was booked into the Vernon County Jail and placed on a $1,000 Cash only Bond and a $10,000 Cash/Surety bond.

Patricia J. Moore, age 73 years, Clinton passed Tuesday, July 5, 2016 at Life Care Center of Grandview. The family will be having a memorial service on Saturday, July 16, at 11am at 1600 North Water St. #17, Clinton, Missouri. Patricia J. Moore was born December 2, 1942 in Torrance, California to Gene and Marie (Turner) Kicklighter. Patricia worked as a CNA for 31 years and loved her job. She also did volunteer work at her children's school when they were younger. Loved the outdoors, fishing, and camping. Her grandkids and great-grandchildren were her world.

She is preceded in death by her husband Russel C. Moore, father, Gene Kicklighter, mother, Marie (Turner) Kicklighter, son-in-law, Kenneth Haak, and a granddaughter Kahla Shea.

Among survivors are her son Charles W. Grandstaff III of Clinton, MO, four daughters, Charyl Heckathorn of Seattle, WA, Alice Wood and Rose Haak both of Clinton, MO, and Julie Comstock of Columbia, MO, along with 21 grandchildren and 19 great-grandchildren.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri.

Man arrested on drug charges after he was found sleeping by Butler gas station dumpsters

On 07/07/16 Butler Officers were dispatched to Casey’s on Orange street in reference to a man sleeping by the dumpsters. Upon arrival Officers contacted a white male, known to them as 31-Year-old 

Derek K Lile, passed out on the sidewalk next to the dumpster. Officers then located a large amount of Methamphetamine on his person and over $7,000 dollars in cash. Lile was transported to the Bates County jail and placed on a 24-hour hold.

Pending charges include Possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, possession of drug paraphernalia, and welfare fraud.

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has issued information on recalls in the last few days on at least

10 Self-Balancing Scooters/Hoverboards due to fire hazard.

Most of the problems seem to stem from the lithium-ion battery packs

You can find more information on the recalls by going to www.cpsc.gov and clicking on recalls.

This website will give the information on the product to include a description, a picture, number and type of incidents with the product, and the remedy for the consumer.

You can also sign up for notifications via email of all recalls issued.

July is a special month for a local family, as three generations and a son in law all share the same birthday... Howard Mooney (right), his son Kenny (middle) and Kenny's daughter Leann along with Howard's son in law Tracy Ewbank (left) were all born on July 7th.
