Around 7:03am this morning the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriffs Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident in the Southbound Lanes of I-49 at Mile Marker 162.6 in rural Cass County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2016 Volvo Conventional semi truck driven by 40 year old Francisco J. Acosta of Independence, Missouri was broke down on the right shoulder of the roadway with three safety triangles out when his vehicle was struck by the 2015 Ford driven by 25 year old Delbert L Hannah Jr. of Archie, Missouri.
The crash report says Mr. Hannah Jr. fell asleep at the wheel of his vehicle and struck the semi truck and traveled off the right side of the roadway striking a ditch and coming to rest in a tree line.
Mr. Hannah Jr. sustained moderate injuries in this accident and he was transported by Central Cass EMS Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
Both vehicle received moderate damages and the 2015 Ford was towed from the scene by J's Southland Tow.

Harrisonville man arrested after Cass County crash
Around 12:53am this morning the Cass County Sheriffs Office along with the Cass County Sheriffs Office responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on Missouri 291 Highway just North of 215th Street in rural Cass County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2001 Suzuki Vitara driven by 28 year old Christopher M. Stultz of Harrisonville, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway and crossed the center line before traveling off the left side of the roadway striking and ditch and overturning.
Mr. Stultz sustained moderate injury in this accident and he was transported to Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Miller Tow.
Christopher M. Stultz was placed under arrest at 2:26am this morning by the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County.
He was charged with 1.) Driving While Intoxicated 2.) No Seatbelt 3.) Failure to drive on the right half of the roadway 4.) Leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident.
Mr. Scultz was released to receive medical treatment for injuries sustained in the accident.

On 7/9/16 around 10:15amthe Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County arrested 26 year old Bobby W. West of Belton, Missouri.Mr. West was arrested for 1.) Felony Cass County Sheriffs Office warrant - Possession of a controlled substance - Methamphetamine
He was booked into the Vernon County Jail and is currently listed as bondable.

Creighton man seriously injured in Henry County dirt bike crash
On 7/8/16 around 10:45pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County along with Garden City EMS responded to a motorcycle crash around 819 NW 1651 Road in rural Henry County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the Kawasaki 220 dirt bike driven by 33 year old Frederick W. Higginbotham of Creighton, Missouri failed to negotiate the terrain and ejecting the driver.
Mr. Higginbotham sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported to Research Hospital in Kansas City, Missouri.
The bike received minor damage and was secured and left at the scene of the accident.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton.
The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., just prior to the service. Friends may call from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, at the funeral home.
The family suggests memorial contributions to Twin Lakes Hospice, and these donations may be left in care of the funeral home.
