Delores J. Kehm
Delores J. Kehm, age 88 years, of Clinton, passed away peacefully after living a full and wonderful life, Monday, July 11, 2016 at Golden Living Center-Westwood, Clinton, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, July 14, 10am with visitation 1 hour prior at Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri. Interment will follow at Vansant Road Cemetery, Clinton. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Vansant Road Cemetery and may be left in care of the funeral home. Delores was born June 19, 1928 the daughter of Dean and Hazel (Parr) Souders. She loved spending time with family, playing cards and cooking, and watching her grandkids participate in sports and school functions. Delores was a member of the Clinton Christian Church and Order of the Easter Star.

Delores was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth; sister, Shirley Dye; daughter, Nancy Carter; grandson, Scott Carter, and her parents, Dean and Hazel Souders.

She is survived by 4 daughters; Jackie (Wilbur) Caldwell, Kenna Moore, Jody (Ron)Cosens, and Kathy (Rick) Breshears all of Clinton, Missouri; son-in-law, Galen Carter, grandchildren DeAnna (Jason) Hendricks, Kim (Robby) Thomason, Ronett (Kavin) Jones, RK (Melody) Johnson, Dawn (Shane) Lawson, Danielle (Mike) Lawson, Kenny (Kelly) Carter, Tim (Rhonda) Cosens, Jennifer (Steve) Gamble, Melinda (Chris) Martin; great-grandchildren, Ashley, David, Trevor, Tyler, Trenton, Courtney, Corey, Bailey, Tyler, Bristol, McKenna, Kason, Cameron, Jackson, Sebastion, Maverick, Mckade, Memphis and many more family and friends.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, Missouri and are pending at this time.

Clinton man arrested on St. Clair County warrant

On July 11, Robert Smith, 34, Clinton, was arrested on St. Clair County warrant for failing to pay fines on three misdemeanor charges of pursuing/taking/killed/possessed or disposed of wildlife illegally. Total bond is set $1,364 cash only. 

The charges stem from a Missouri Department of Conservation investigation on December 11, 2012.

The pile of rubble that occupied the southeast corner of the Butler square is all but gone... now it's a matter of smoothing the landscape and a little minor cleanup.

Mary Jane Lang

Mary Jane Lang, 79, of Beloit, WI, passed away on Thursday, July 7, 2016 in Beloit Memorial Hospital.

She was born June 29, 1937, in Griggsville, IL, the daughter of Charles and Helen (Gray) Puckett. Mary Jane married Ted Harold Lang on March 22, 1958 in Nevada, MO. He predeceased her on October 7, 1999.

Mary Jane worked at Key Industries and was a housekeeper at Nevada State Hospital, retiring in 1995. She helped on the family farm.

Survivors include her sons, Bill Lang of Beloit, WI, and Clifford (Debbie) Lang of Perryton, TX; daughter, Cindy (Eric) Gill of Beloit, WI; grandchildren, Christy (Charles) Salisbury, Amanda (Ray Kortte) Gill, Jace (Hayley Couch) Lang-Swan, Kimberly Lang, Brandy Crawford, Pauline Torres and Alicia Herro; and three great-great granddaughters.

She was predeceased by her parents.

A Memorial visitation for Mary Jane will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, July 12, 2016 in the Daley Murphy Wisch & Associates Funeral Home and Crematorium, 2355 Cranston Road, Beloit, WI. A Memorial visitation will also be from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2016 in Ferry Funeral Home, 301 S. Washington, Nevada, MO.

According to KCP&L, around 6,000 homes lost power during storms that rolled through just after daybreak- locally affecting many in Bates, St. Clair, Henry and Vernon counties in Missouri; in Kansas, about 4,000 residents lost power in an area spanning around Bourbon, Linn and Miami counties. Crews are expected to be working the next few days to get the lights back on as soon as possible.

Obituary - Loyd Edward Brooks

Loyd Edward Brooks, 72, Rich Hill, MO. passed away at his home. Funeral services will be held Friday, July 15 at 11:00 a.m. at the Heuser Funeral Home with burial and Military Rites in the Greenlawn Cemetery, Rich Hill.

Obituary - Minnie F. Vaughn

Minnie F. Vaughn, age 92, of Warsaw, Missouri, passed away Monday, July 11, 2016 at her home in Warsaw. A visitation will be held Thursday July 14, 2016 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm at Reser Funeral Home in Warsaw. 

Funeral services will then be held 1:30 pm Saturday, July 16, 2016 at Mullinax Funeral Home, Butler, Missouri (660-679-0009). 

Visitation will be held prior to services on Saturday from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm also at Mullinax Funeral Home. Burial will be in Salem Cemetery, Foster, Missouri. Messages of condolence may be left for the family at www.mullinaxfuneralhome.com 


Minnie was born on December 9, 1923 the daughter of Gus and Gladys (Woodfin) Strait. She grew up in Rich Hill and graduated from Rich Hill High School. Minnie was united in marriage to Wesley Donald Vaughn. They made their home in Lee's Summit, Missouri where she was employed as a line worker for Western Electric. After their retirement, they made their home in Warsaw and spent their winters in Brownsville, Texas. She was a member of the Spoonbill Quilters Club, the DAM Painters (Decorative Artists of Missouri) and the Ozark Rug Hookers. 

Minnie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son Jack Edward Vaughn and a sister Norma McCaw. 

She is survived by a son Larry Vaughn and his wife Barbara, of Warsaw, a daughter Diane Sharp and her husband Jerry, of Warsaw, a daughter-in-law Judy Vaughn of Belton, Missouri, six grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, other relatives and friends.
