On July 13, St. Clair County deputy responded to a call of a possible stolen vehicle at Shelby's gas station Lowry City. An employee stated at approximately 5 a.m. several individuals driving Cadillac's pulled in the parking lot.
After the individuals left an unoccupied newer looking Cadillac was noticed sitting at the gas pumps. A check showed the vehicle was owned by Thompson Auto Sales, Springfield. A message was left for the company regarding the vehicle. Later the same morning contact was made with Thompson Auto Sales who stated the business had been burglarized and the individuals stole car keys and several vehicles.
The vehicle was processed and a tow truck was arranged to pick it up. Springfield Police Department is investigating the case.

Obituary - Evelyn Marie Jantz
Evelyn Marie Jantz, 92, of Metz, passed from this life on Friday, July 15, 2016 at Nevada Nursing and Rehab in Nevada. Evelyn was born March 20, 1924 in Halstead, KS to Isaac and Susie (Dirks) Decker. She was united in marriage to Marion G. Jantz on March 16, 1947 in Halstead, KS and he survives. Evelyn was raised in the rural Halstead area. Following her marriage to Marion they came to Missouri in 1948 and made their home in the rural Metz area. Evelyn was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking, gardening, and quilting, but she especially loved doing for others.
In addition to her husband Marion she is survived by her children, Velma Boehs and her husband Harold, Nevada, Mary Koehn, Richards, Daniel Jantz, Nevada, Phyllis Hiebert and her husband Ray, Saragosa, TX; 12 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren, four step great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and five sisters.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, July 18, 2016 at Bethany Mennonite Church in Rich Hill, MO. Interment will follow in the Bethany Mennonite Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6-8:00 p.m. Sunday evening at the church.
Those who wish may contribute in her name to the Bethany Mennonite Church Benevolent Fund.
Nevada man arrested on burglary charges

Taken into custody on July 14 2016 was a 27 year old Nevada man, identified as:

Judd was transported to the Vernon County Jail, and held on the following warrants issued by the Vernon County Circuit Court:
1. Burglary 1st Degree B Felony
2. Resisting/Interfering with Arrest A Misd
Judd remains in custody on $11,000 cash or surety bonds.

Police searching for man wanted for theft of 22 head of cattle

July 13, a St. Clair County warrant was issued for Randy Craig, 58, El
Dorado Springs, charging him with class B felony stealing livestock with
the value more than $10,000 and class C felony passing a bad check $500
or more. Bond is set at $20,000 cash or surety.
The charges stem from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on June 13 when a deputy took a report on SE 1300 Road, Humansville, regarding cattle purchased with a bad check.
John Fox, manager of the United Producers Inc. livestock auction (Humansville Sale Barn) reported Craig purchased 22 head of cattle for $20,930.70 on June 7. Craig allegedly paid for the cattle using a check from an account that had insufficient funds.
Sheriff Keeler urges those with any information related to the location of Craig to contact the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office Tip Line, 417-646-5832, or email to tips@scsomo.org.

They will also have door prizes and goody bags.
