Butler Parks and Recreation Department First Annual Co-ed Wood Bat Classic

The Butler Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the First Annual Co-ed Wood Bat Classic. 

The tournament will be held August 13 at the Osage and Comet fields. 

The cost is $200.00 per team and a team must have 6 guys and 4 girls. 

Registration deadline for this event is August 10th. 

The Parks Department will be supplying the bats and the participants must supply the balls 52-300.

15 years of service for Osterberg

Congratulations to Mary Osterberg who was honored by Mayor Hasek during last night's Board of Aldermen meeting for her 15 years of service with the City of Harrisonville.

One killed in Henry County rollover accident

Around 10:55am this morning the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County along with the Henry County Sheriffs Office responded to a one vehicle rollover accident on Route Z .2 Miles West of Bridge A3694 in rural Henry County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2004 International driven by 53 year old David C. Vandeburg of Eldon, Missouri traveled off the right side of the roadway, driver over corrected causing the vehicle to overturn and strike a ditch.

Mr. Vandeburg was killed in the accident and he was transported to Bradley & Hadley Funeral home in Clinton, Missouri.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Golden Valley Wrecker.

This is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 39th Fatality accident of 2016.

Patricia Aldridge
Patricia Aldridge, 79, Belton, Missouri, died Sunday, July 31, 2016 at Golden Years Care Center in Harrisonville, MO. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 (noon) Thursday, August 4 at St. Francis Xavier at 52nd and Troost, Kansas City, MO. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 3 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

Patricia was born January 2, 1937 in Kansas City, Missouri, the daughter of Robert M. and Mary C. (Ryan) Perkins. She graduated from Avilla College Cum Laude in 1981 with a MS in Counseling Psychology. She taught at Longview and Blue Springs Community College. She worked as a Psychologist for Comprehensive Mental Health Center in Independence from 1988 to 2011.


Patricia was preceded in death by her parents. She is survived by her children, Debbie Linton, Belton, Missouri, Barbie Glaviano, Belton, Missouri, David Aldridge, Olathe, Kansas, Duane Aldridge, Kansas City, Missouri, and Valerie Rinehart (John), Peculiar, Missouri; two sisters, Suzi Perkins, Olathe, KS and Jean Cobb (David), Gig Harbor, Washington; 19 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
