Update: Rockville man arrested after police chase in Cass County ends in Johnson County

Vehicle pursuit initiated in Cass County ends in Johnson County with the arrest of a 46 year old Mark E. Prater from Rockville, MO. 

Johnson County deputies entered the pursuit near TT and T highway, just south of Kingsville at 3:00am yesterday morning. 

The vehicle failed to yield for Johnson County deputies and travelled east on SW 500 road to 131 highway. The vehicle continued south on 131 highway and left the roadway at the intersection of 131 highway and SW 2 highway. 

The vehicle drove through a field and entered back onto 2 highway and traveled east on 2 highway. The vehicle came to a stop near Chilhowee as the vehicle departed the roadway as it turned south onto SW 151 road from 2 highway. 

Mr. Prater was arrested for Probation Violation out of Bates County for possession of a controlled substance, Probation Violation out of Platte County for Fraud, Failure to Appear out of Henry County for possession of dangerous drugs. 

Johnson County deputies placed Mr. Prater on a twenty four hour hold for possession of a controlled substance, failure to yield for emergency vehicle and felony driving while revoked. The male subject is being held at the Johnson County Jail.

One year ago Allen Brooks went in front of the Butler City Council... Roger Cecil with Butler, Missouri Animal Control and Genevieve Burk with Bates County, Missouri Pet Placement also spoke on his behalf and on the need for our shelter in Butler and Bates County.

Thanks to MANY amazing people... over 200 animals lives have been saved to date. Today we celebrate with ALL OF YOU in your efforts of saving lives, one dog at a time.

Thursday will be a hot one!

Thursday is going to be super dangerous hot day, heat index could range 105-110 in our region. Make sure you stay hydrated by drinking lots of water and avoid caffeine and alcohol. Take plenty of brakes from outside activities make sure kids do as well. 

Check on your elderly neighbors and remember the outside pets they need lots of fresh water as well adding ice to their water will give them some relief.
