Schell City man arrested on probation violation in Vernon County

On Monday 8/8/16 the Nevada Police Department arrested 76 year old Dale L. Allison of Schell City, Missouri.

Mr. Allison was arrested on 1.) Probation Violation - Driving While Intoxicated - Aggravated Offender which is a Class C Felony. 

Dale L. Allison was sentenced in 2015 to 6 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections, a sentence that was suspended pending successful completion of five years supervised probation.

He was booked into the Vernon County Jail and is to be held 10 days.

Clinton man arrested for domestic assault

Michael F. Shortino III

On 8/8/16 around 8;30pm the Clinton Police Department arrested 28 year old Michael F. Shortino III of Clinton, Missouri.

Mr. Shortino was arrested for 1.) Domestic Assault - 3rd Degree.

He was booked into the Henry County Jail and placed on a $5,000 Cash/Surety bond.

Dear Parents:

The 2016-17 school year is about to start and I would like to take this time to notify you of some changes that will be taking place this year with lunch prices and school starting times. School will start at 8:10 and end at 3:20. 

The doors will open at 7:30 every morning for you to drop your child off for school. 

Lunch prices will be going up this year as well. Elementary lunch will be $1.80, Middle/High school lunches will be $2.05. 

The back to school open house will be August 16, 2016 starting at 5:30pm. Please make sure you get on our website to view our student handbooks.

The Henry County Library is looking to fill a circulation clerk position/social media specialist position at the Clinton branch. This is a 28 hour a week position and requires working predominantly in the evenings and on Saturdays. There is the possibility of full time hours during the summer. Missouri man killed in mobile home fire

POTTERSVILLE, Mo. (AP) - A south-central Howell County, Missouri man is dead after a fire destroyed his mobile home in Pottersville, Missouri (10 miles West of West Plains Missouri). 

The Ozark Radio Network reports firefighters were called to the home just before noon on Monday. 

The man was pulled from the home and emergency responders performed CPR but couldn't revive him. A rabbit and two cats also were killed in the fire.

The Missouri State Fire marshal has been called in to investigate the cause of the blaze. 

His identity was being withheld until the investigation is complete.

Search Warrant Served in Drexel Area

The Bates County Sheriffs Office are currently serving a search warrant at a residence in the Drexel area.

The location of this search warrant is said to be on Stateline Rd. between 359th and CR16002.
