Obituary - John W. Allcorn, Jr.
John W. Allcorn, Jr., 73, of Blue Mound, passed away August 10, 2016 at Prescott Country View Nursing Home after a long illness. John was born October 23, 1942 in Osawatomie, Kansas to John William and Norma Ruth (Murray) Allcorn, Sr. After graduating from Osawatomie High School, John served two years in the United States Air Force. On July 14, 1962 John married Jane Ellen Crozier. They had two sons, Adam Wade and Andrew William. John was an avid car nut.
He worked for several car dealers in Osawatomie and Paola and as a mechanic for Amoco for 30 years in Miami County before moving to Blue Mound and working for Amoco in Mound City.
He owned the car wash and storage in Mound City. John had several street rods, belonged to several car clubs, and was a safety inspector for the National Street Rod Association. John retired from full time employment in 2007 after working 10 years for Linn County as a truck driver. John never met a stranger and loved to visit. John was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, Jane, of the home; two sons, Adam and Andrew both of Blue Mound; three sisters, Shirley Fultz, Jeannie Angler, and Donna Andrews and husband Arthur all of Olathe, KS; two granddaughters, Mallory and Hannah Allcorn; one great-granddaughter, Nema Rose Tripp; and several nieces and nephews.
The family suggests contributions to John Allcorn Funeral Expense Fund in care of Schneider Funeral Home, PO Box J, Mound City, KS 66056. Friends and family may leave online condolences at www.schneiderfunerals.com. Arrangements: Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel.
The family will be holding a Celebration of Life Service at a later date. Please check back for details.

Missouri man arrested for meth, stolen guns

According to a Sedalia Police Department news release, at 6:34 p.m. SPD patrol officers and detectives, along with Pettis County Sheriff’s Office deputies, served a no-knock, drug-related search warrant at a former business in the 800 block of South Marshall Avenue.
Once officers entered the building, contact was made with a male, identified as Roger W. Green, 38, who was taken into custody without incident.

The Henry County Sheriff's Office is attempting to locate a stolen teal blue in color 1998 Ford Explorer with Missouri License Plate number of HM2-X8G.
The vehicle was stolen today around 12:30pm from the Sonic restaurant in Windsor, Missouri.

Obituary - Jerry Little
Jerry Little age 64 years, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016 at his home in Clinton, Missouri. A memorial service will be held 10:30am Saturday, August 13, 2016 at the Vansant-Mills Chapel, Clinton, Missouri. No visitation. Fond memories and condolences can be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com.Jerry was born February 27, 1952 in Kansas City, Missouri the son Darrel and Ramha (Oden) Little. He was a graduate of Clinton High School. After school he went to work for Rival until it closed. Then he worked for Schreiber for a short while. He retired from Lincoln Industrial after 10 years of service there. Jerry loved motor racing, fishing, and gold prospecting.
He is survived by his loving partner of over 30 years, Donna Baumgarden, a brother, Larry Little, 5 children; Jeremiah Little, Charity Gardener, Jennifer Baumgarden, Coty Little, and Hally Little, as well as several grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home, Clinton, Missouri.
