Hit and run at Max Motors in Butler

Shortly before 9pm last night the Butler Police Department was called out to a hit and run accident at Max Motors located at 1108 West Ft. Scott Street in Butler.

The accident occurred when a Swift International Semi truck was attempting to pull out of the parking lot of Super 8 motel and struck two vehicles on the corner of the Max Motors lot.

The driver of the semi truck fled the scene on Northbound I-49 but was shortly pulled over by Missouri State Highway Patrol and brought back to the scene.

He was cited with several tickets and the matter has been turned over to Missouri DOT.

Two injured in St. Clair County Crash

On 8/25/16 around 4:35pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in St. Clair County responded to a two vehicle accident on NE1270 Road around 5 miles East of Lowry City in rural St. Clair County. 

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1996 Dodge Ram truck driven by 29 year old Robert W. Short of Deepwater, Missouri met a uncontrolled intersection and struck the 2006 Kia Sorento driven by 49 year old Timothy S. Kreisler of Concordia, Missouri.

Timothy S. Kreisler sustained moderate injuries in this accident and was transported by ambulance to Golden Valley Medical Center in Clinton, Missouri for treatment.

Robert W. Short sustained minor injuries in this accident and was transported by private vehicle to Golden Valley Medical Center in Clinton, Missouri for treatment.

Both vehicle received  moderate damages in this accident and was towed from the scene by Brays Tow of Osceola, Missouri.

The National Weather Service in Pleasant Hill has issued a significant weather advisory for Southeastern Bates County until 11pm.

The storm is capable of producing 40mph winds and dime size hail

Updated Obituary - Corey Lee Turner

Corey L. Turner

Corey Lee Turner age 14 of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life Tuesday, August 23, 2016. 

Corey is survived by his parents Jeffrey and Kimberly Turner of the home; a brother, Ryan Turner of the home; maternal Grandfather Billy J. Hick of Kansas City, Missouri; other relatives any many friends. 

Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 28, 2016 at 2:30 p.m. at the Harrisonville High School Gym, 1504 E. Elm, Harrisonville, Missouri. 

The family will receive friends Saturday, August 27, 2016 from 5:30 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Harrisonville High School Gym.

Services are under the care of Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.
