Update: One arrested after fleeing police in Archie

Jeremy Nash
On August 27, 2016 a Deputy from the Bates County Sheriff’s Office conducted a traffic stop on I-49.

The black Ford Mustang he conducted the stop on matched the description of a vehicle that failed to yield to Archie Police earlier that morning. The temporary tag on the vehicle, that was expired, came back to a Jeremy Nash (DOB 9/20/1975).

Mr. Nash denied consent for the Deputy to search the vehicle. A K-9 Unit was dispatched to the scene. The K-9 conducted a free air sniff around the car. The K-9 alerted to the driver’s side door of the vehicle. This gave Deputies probable cause to search the vehicle. During their search a clear baggie was located that had a crystal like substance in it. The substance field tested positive for methamphetamine.

Archie Police arrived on the scene and identified Nash as the person that had ran from them earlier that morning. Nash was transported to the Bates County Jail and was put on a 24 hour investigative hold.

The Deputy obtained a warrant for Nash. He was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance. His bond was set at $15000.00 cash or surety.
