AT&T outage causing grief in northern Bates County

For the second day now, some Adrian/Archie/Drexel residents and businesses alike are without phone and internet service, due to an outage from carrier AT&T.

Calls to AT&T customer service come with an assuring pre-recorded message that they are aware of the situation and are working to solve the problem.

The message does not, however, give a time frame as to when service is expected to be back up and running.

UPDATE 4:15 pm: A reliable source tells Mid America Live that the problem is centered around roots that have grown into an underground fiber optic line. Still no word on how long service is expected to be down.
