Funeral services will be 1:00 pm Tuesday, September 6, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville.

Structure Fire at Kurzweils Country Meats in rural Cass County

Several Fire Crews and Police Agencies are on scene of a structure fire at Kurzweils Country Meats located at 30213 E 286th Terrace in rural Cass County.

The cause of this fire is pending investigation and we are unsure of any injures at this time.

Kurzweils' Country Meats was founded by three Kurzweil brothers: James M., Tom, and Dennis on April 28, 1995.

Update: Missing man from Garden City found safe

The Garden City Police Department has cancelled an Endangered Person Advisory for a missing person incident that occurred at 801 Park Avenue in Garden City at 09:00 AM on August 19, 2016.

Missing Is:
Andrew F Gray a white, male, age 32.

The endangered missing person:
Andrew F Gray, is a white, male, age 32, hgt 510, 140 lbs, brown hair and brown eyes.

Brief circumstances regarding the Endangered Missing Person incident: Gray has returned home safely.

We need your help to find this man

Adam S. Brandt
The Johnson County Sheriff's Office and the FBI are searching for fugitive Adam S. Brandt.

Mr. Brandt is described as a white male who is 6`2" 205lbs with blue eyes and brown hair. 

He is known to be armed and potentially dangerous and has been seen in the Kansas City Kansas area also very known to frequent casinos.

Joplin man injured in one vehicle rollover accident in Vernon County

Around 12:55pm today the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County responded to a one vehicle rollover accident in the Northbound Lanes of I-49 around 8 miles North of Nevada.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1998 Ford Explorer driven by 37 year old Scott L. Quick of Joplin, Missouri traveled into the median, driver over corrected and ran off the right side of the roadway and overturned.

Mr. Quick sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported  to Freeman West Hospital in Joplin, Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed by Phillips Towing of Nevada, Missouri.
