Obituary - Norma Lucille Sutton McIntire

Norma Lucille Sutton McIntire a former resident of Texas, Milo, Missouri and Smithville, Missouri died Friday, September 30, 2016 in Smithville, Missouri. Norma was born March 25, 1930 in Harris, Texas to Edward A. and Lucille M. (Needham) Sutton. 

She married Lee R. McIntire July 23, 1946 in Fort Scott, Kansas; they were blessed with six children.


Norma loved playing cards, quilting, garage sales, collecting dolls, and spending time with her family. She was a very gifted painter.
Survivors include her daughter Sharon Lucille (McIntire) Beshears and husband Lonnie, sons Lee Roy Jr., Charles David and wife Debbie, Harley James, and Kenneth Ray. She had 14 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren.


She was preceded in death by her husband Lee in 2003, one daughter Evelyn (Ruth) in 1976, her parents and several brothers and sisters.


Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 5, 2016 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada with Rev. Jerod Lamb officiating. Interment will follow in Olive Branch Cemetery, Milo, Missouri. The family will receive friends from 1-2:00 p.m. prior to the service at Ferry Funeral Home.


Memorials are suggested to Olive Branch Cemetery in c/o Ferry Funeral Home.

Theft from vehicle reported in Rich Hill

On September 27, 2016 a Deputy responded to Pumpin Pete’s Gas Station in Rich Hill, MO to take a report of a theft. An employee stated that around 1:15 that morning he went to his truck and found several items missing including his debit card. 

The passenger door to his truck had not been shut all the way after the suspect stole items out of the truck. The total estimated value of the stolen items was around $400.00. 


The Deputy is going to attempt to get the security camera footage of the incident. If you have any information on this theft, please contact a Detective at 660-679-3232.

Over 4k raised in Craft family fundraiser

A rummage sale was held Friday and Saturday for the DeAnn Craft family to help offset expenses incurred as she is battling cancer

The Bates County Community
made this a "HUGE SUCCESS with a little over $4200.00 raised!"

"THANKS to everyone that supported in any way, we couldn't have done it without you!" ♡

DeAnn's status update; Kelly Craft reported this morning, "She is supposed to get released from hospital this morning and I will bring her back to hotel. We will spend a couple of days at hotel to make sure we can get along on our own then fly home probably Wednesday. Tell everyone, "THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!"

Obituary - Louise M. Wagenblast

Louise M. Wagenblast, 90, of Peculiar, Missouri died Saturday, October 1, 2016 at her home in Peculiar. Graveside services will be held 11:00am Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at West Union Cemetery, Cleveland, Missouri. 

The family suggests contributions to the Peculiar, Missouri First Baptist Church Building Fund.
