Democratic Central Committee Meeting In Butler

The Democratic Central Committee will be meeting Wednesday October 12, at 9:00 am at Democratic Headquarters. 

The Democratic Headquarters is located at 10 N Delaware on the West side of the Historic Butler Square.

Butler Youth Basketball Sign Ups

Butler Youth Basketball Sign Ups will be Friday October 14th & 21st from 5:00pm-7:00pm at the multi and Saturday October 15th &22nd from 9:00-12:00 at the multi. No late sign ups!

An unsettled week of weather ahead

Showers and maybe an isolated thunderstorm or two will impact our region today. No severe weather is expected however. 

Dry weather will return tomorrow with another round of showers and storms expected on Wednesday as a cold front moves through the area. 

Chilly air will then settle south across our region with frost potential increasing across northern Missouri and far northeastern Kansas early Thursday morning.

Possible structure fire in Adrian

The Adrian Fire Department along with mutual aide of the Butler Fire Department and Adrian Police Department are in route to a reported structure fire at 109 East Lexington in Adrian at this time.

The house is said to be fully engulfed with smoke at this time. 

Please use caution and avoid this area as fire crews work to secure this scene.

Obituary - Nicki Jo Cantrell

Nicki Jo Cantrell, 70, Adrian, Missouri, formerly of Archie, Missouri, died Friday, October 7, 2016 at Adrian Manor, Adrian, Missouri. 

Graveside Services will be 10:00am Wednesday, October 12, 2016 at Crescent Hill Cemetery, Adrian, Missouri. 

The family will receive friends 6:00-8:00pm Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at the he Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville, Missouri. A complete obituary will be added when it becomes available.

Obituary - Marjorie Therese Fisler

Marjorie Therese Fisler, age 85, Pleasanton, Kansas passed away on Friday, September 30, 2016 at the Olathe Hospice House. She was born on May 27, 1931 at Lyons, Illinois the daughter of Thomas Frank and Helen Amelia Adamski Kuras. She married Jack Emerson. To this union two children were born, Thomas Kyle and Jacquelyn. She later married Benjamin Harrison Fisler. He preceded her in death in 2001. Marjorie worked in the banking industry as a book keeper and later as a secretary at United Airlines. 

She was a member of the Pleasanton First Christian Church. She enjoyed sewing and gardening. She was preceded in death by her parents and a sister, Bernadine Cerny. Marjorie is survived by a son, Thomas Kyle Emerson, a daughter, Jacquelyn Taylor, a grand son Kyle and two sisters, Barbara Miller and Rita Misek.

Memorial service will be held Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Pleasanton Chapel. Visitation will be held from 1:30 pm to service time at the chapel.

Herman Leroy Vail age 85 of Osawatomie, KS died Friday, October 7, 2016 at Miami County Medical Center, Paola, Kansas.
