On 11/1/16 around 6:36pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cedar County arrested 38 year old Christina M. Allen of Schell City, Missouri.
She was arrested for 1.) Felony Warrant - Vernon County Probation Violation - Original Offense Dangerous Drugs.
Christina M. Allen was booked into the Cedar County jail and placed on No Bond.

The funeral mass for Susan will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday November 5, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Montrose, Missouri.
The officiate will be Father Tom Hermes .
The visitation and prayer service will be held Friday November 4, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Montrose, Missouri with the Visitation from 5:30 p.m. - 6:45 p.m. and the Prayer Service at 6:45 p.m.
Interment will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, rural Montrose, Missouri.
The family suggests any memorial gifts be made to the National Arthritis Research Foundation. Memorials may be left at the church or the funeral home.
Susan A. Goodnight, 67, of Deepwater, Missouri passed away peacefully at her home on Monday October 31, 2016. She was born August 1, 1949 at Ellett Hospital in Appleton City, Missouri, the daughter of Benjamin and Mary (Fessler) Brownsberger of Montrose, Missouri. On June 3, 1967 she married Glen Goodnight and to this union three children were born: Trent, Brad, and Dana.
Susan graduated from Montrose High School in 1967, then attended the University of Southern Illinois in Edwardsville, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in elementary education. After graduation she taught school for 20 years, retiring in 2013.
Susie had a beautiful smile and she spent her life making other people feel good. Her friends and family always knew how deeply she cared about them. One of the great pleasures of her life was teaching children to read. Apart from giving the gift of learning, Susan herself enjoyed reading avidly. She was also an excellent cook and an especially talented baker, never using a recipe. In her retirement Susan dearly loved the rural landscape and fall colors of the Deepwater area. She will be deeply missed by all her friends and family.
Susan is preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin and Mary Brownsberger; and her brother John (Jackie) Brownsberger.
She is survived by her husband, Glen; three children: Trent (Angie) Goodnight of Hudson, IA, Brad (Jodi), Goodnight of Freeburg, IL, and Dana (Andres’) Jaramillo of Scottsdale, AZ; five grandchildren: Cassie (Mike), Austin, Grant, Gavin, and Sebastian; one sister: Mary Kathrine (Tom) Coffey of Wausau, WI; and one brother: Sam (Donna) Brownsberger of Montrose, MO, and many other relatives and friends.
Stolen vehicle leads to three arrests in Bates County

On 10-24-2016 Bates County Sheriff’s Deputy received a call for service at 2470 NE County Road 14002 Adrian in regards to a stolen vehicle. A white in color 2000 Chevy Silverado 1500 extended cab.
Later that day Bates County Deputy observed that stolen vehicle driving north bond on I-49 just south of Butler. The Deputy conducted a traffic stop on the vehicle.
The deputy approached the vehicle and observed three subjects in the vehicle. All subjects were identified as, the driver Brittaney N.Killham, front seat passenger William A. Roberts, and the back seat passenger Stacy A. Mcmahon. All subjects were arrested and transported to the Bates County Jail.
The Deputy received consent to search the vehicle and located a small amount of methamphetamine, marijuana and drug paraphernalia.

Charged were:
- Brittaney Killman DOB 02-08-1986 of Belton had an active warrant out of Bates County for Possession of methamphetamine a class C felony Unlawful use of drug paraphernalia a class A misdemeanor. Bond was set at $12,500.00 cash or surety. An additional warrant was issued for Brittaney Killman for Tampering with a motor vehicle in the 1st degree a class C felony. Possession of marijuana a class A misdemeanor. Bond set at $10,000.00 cash or surety.
- William Roberts 08-12-1974 of Harrisonville charged with Tampering with motor vehicle in the 1st degree a class C felony. Possession of methamphetamine a class A felony. Unlawful use of drug paraphernal class A misdemeanor. Bond set $25,000.00 cash or surety.
- Stacy Mcmahon DOB 03-09-1977 of Harrisonville charged with Possession of methamphetamine a class A Felony. Unlawful use of drug paraphernal class A misdemeanor. Bond set $12,500.00 cash or surety.

De’Von Hibbs, 10 month old infant son of Daniel and Nashonite (Hackman) Hibbs of Nevada, MO, passed away October 30, 2016 at Children’s Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, MO.
De’Von was born with major heart defects. He fought hard for life and loved “Sponge Bob”. De’Von loved and was deeply loved by his family, his First Baptist Church family, and will be greatly missed by all. For the past 10 months the family motto has been “The Fight Don’t Stop Until Your Heart Stop”.
De’Von is survived by his parents of the home; a brother De’Vante Hibbs, and sister, Addison Hibbs, both of the home; paternal grandfather, Mike Schlup, of Nevada; maternal great-grandmother, Joyce Maxon, Chicago, IL; maternal great-grandfather, Ponce Cade, Chicago, IL; maternal aunt, Darlwin Sorrells, Chicago; maternal uncles, Daimmyon Hackman, Chicago, Durlwin Hackman, Phoenix, AZ, Ramonte Hackman, Chicago; paternal uncles, James Stevens, Nevada, and Bill Hibbs, Nevada.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, November 4, 2016 at First Baptist Church in Nevada with Rev. David Crook officiating.
Update: 7 year old child among injured in Bates County rollover accident
On 11/01/16 around 1:00pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Rich Hill Fire Department and Bates County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover accident in the Northbound Lanes of I-49 at Mile Marker 120 ( Rich Hill).
The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2006 Mazda 6 driven by 52 year old Jeri R. Bishop of Kearney, Missouri traveled off the roadway on a curve before the driver overcorrected causing the vehicle to overturn and travel off the opposite side of the roadway.
Jeri R. Bishop sustained serious injuries in this accident a passenger in her vehicle 7 year old Graiden W.White also of Kearney, Missouri sustained minor injuries in this accident.
Both occupants of the vehicle were transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment,
The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Don's Tow of Butler, Missouri.
