A Big Thank You

A public thank you to the FCCLA for organizing a diaper drive for Bates County Children's Division, as well as thanking the Butler School District and all community members and students who donated diapers and wipes.

While it'll be cooler than what we've had the last few weeks, it will actually be fairly close to normal for this time of year. 

Overall, quiet weather is expected for the rest of the week and into the weekend. There is a chance for rain late Sunday and into Monday.

Kansas City man seriously injured in Henry County accident

On 11/29/16 around 12:15pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County along with Garden City Police Department and Cass County Sheriffs Deputies responded to a one vehicle rollover accident in the Northbound Lanes of Missouri 7 Highway around 1 mile South of Creighton, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2004 Volvo driven by Jeremy L. Astuto of Kansas City, Missouri ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a embankment causing the vehicle to overturn multiple times.

Mr. Astuto sustained serious injuries in this accident and he was transported by Life Flight to Research Medical Center in Kansas City,Missouri for treatment.

The vehicle was totaled and towed from the scene by Golden Valley Tow.

Tammy Lynn Christiansen
Tammy Lynn Christiansen, 42, Harrisonville, Missouri, died Monday, November 28, 2016 at her home. 

Memorial services will be held at 6:00 p.m. Monday, December 5, 2016 at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Harrisonville. 

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Harrisonville Animal Shelter, P.O. Box 367, Harrisonville, MO 64701.

St. Clair County Arrest Warrants

On Nov. 28, Samantha Taylor, 29, Springfield, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for misdemeanor probation violation on two original counts of class A misdemeanor domestic assault-third degree. Bond is set at $10,000 cash or surety. Taylor was also arrested on a Clinton Police Department warrant for failing to appear in court on an original misdemeanor charge of no insurance. Bond on that charge is set at $249.50 cash only.
he original St. Clair County charges stem from an incident on Jan. 30 when a St Clair County deputy responded to a call of a female making threats to another individual at an apartment on South Mahan Street, Lowry City. During the investigation it was discovered Taylor entered a residence, uninvited, of another individual placing them in apprehension of immediate physical injury. Taylor allegedly pushed her way through another family member and threatened to cut the throat of the individual.
On Nov. 27, Skyla Carroll, 28, Osceola, was arrested on a St. Clair County warrant for failing to appear in court on a class A misdemeanor charge of assault-third degree. Bond is set at $2,500 cash or surety.
he original charge stems from a St. Clair County Sheriff’s Office investigation on March 12 when deputies took an assault report at a residence on NE CC Highway. The investigation discovered Carroll struck two male individuals with a closed fist.

Clinton man injured in Henry County rollover accident

On 11/29/16 around 8:40am the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County responded to a once vehicle rollover accident on NE 100 road just South of NE 300 road in rural Henry County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 1996 Ford driven by Eli D. Grier of Clinton, Missouri ran off the right side of the roadway. The driver then over corrected and striking a ditch causing the vehicle to over turn.

Mr. Grier sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was treated and the scene of the accident by EMS.

The vehicle received extensive damages and it was towed by Golden Valley Tow.
