Update: Large apartment fire in Harrisonville displaces several

Photo Submitted to us
Yesterday afternoon around 4:00pm several fire agencies responded to a massive apartment complex fire at the Twin Oaks Apartments located at 2205 Mission Road in Harrisonville, Missouri.

When fire crews arrived on scene they found a fully engulfed structure fire. At one point, two of the five buildings were fully engulfed in flames.

Ultimately, all five buildings were affected in this fire. Crews from multiple agencies assisted in battling the fire for several hours and no one was reported injured.

The fire forced 59 people from their apartments initially, 27 have now been left homeless. A total of 120 people live in the apartments.

The roofs of the apartments were made of cedar which likely contributed to the spread of the fire.

A investigation on the cause of this fire is pending at this time and we will update when more information is made available to us.
