Update: Stormy Christmas Night

Still watching the skies for a line of thunderstorms this evening. The line of storms moving east through Kansas this afternoon will affect areas along the Kansas-Missouri border (KC Metro) between 5 and 7 PM this evening. Strong gusty winds and brief periods of torrential rain will accompany this line of storms this evening. As the storms move east of KC this evening the threat from gusty winds will decrease.

Christmas Day rain inbound

Temps peaking in the 60's today will be followed by rain this evening.

Radar is showing a solid line of rather heavy rain, possibly mixed with some brief thunderstorms. Good news is that it shouldn't last too long.

Forecasters are saying the heaviest rain may come around dark- be extra careful if driving home this evening.
