Warmer Days Ahead

Temperatures will continue to warm for the first part of the week. Generally speaking, the colder temperatures are expected in northern MO/KS with the warmer temperatures along/south of I-70. 

Light precipitation is expected Tuesday and Wednesday, mainly along and east of HWY 65. At this time, little accumulation is expected.

Police searching for man who fled on foot after traffic stop in Henry County

The Henry County Sheriffs Office along with the Missouri State Highway Patrol troopers are currently searching for a subject that fled from them on foot after a traffic stop around the area of 388 NE 31 in the Clinton area of Henry County.

The subject is said to be a white male that is possibly wearing a grey t shirt and orange hoodie.

Butler man arrested on warrants

Taylor Clark Heffernon
On 01/07/2017 around 8:16am the Butler Police Department arrested 20 year old Taylor Clark Heffernon of Butler, Missouri. Mr. Heffernon was arrested for for 1.) Possession of a Controlled Substance-Methamphetamine. 2.) Bates County warrant-Probation Revocation. 3.) City of Butler-failure to appear. 

 Mr. Heffernon was booked into the Bates County Jail with a bond of 5,050.00 cash. 

Formal charges for the possession of a controlled substance will be forwarded to the Bates County Prosecutors Office.

Arrest made in Garden City

Around 9:30am this morning Officers of the Garden City Police Department stopped a car on F Hwy in Garden City for a traffic violation. 

While visiting with the driver and passenger, it was discovered that the passenger, a 59 year old woman from Harrisonville, had warrants for her arrest for multiple charges including endangering the welfare of a child. 

The woman was arrested and transported to the Cass County Jail. The driver of the car was issued a warning for the traffic violation and released.

Clinton man arrested in Henry County

On 01/07/17 the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Henry County arrested 32 year old Jeremy J. Jones of Clinton, Missouri.

Mr. Jones was arrested for 1.) Felony Driving While Suspended 2.) Felony Probation & Parole Warrant 3.) Felony Henry County Warrant 4.) Misdemeanor failure to appear in court warrant out of Clinton Police Department 5.) Speeding 6.) No Seat Belt.

He was booked into the Henry County Jail and placed on no bond.

Mary Leona Akins 91 of Harrisonville, Missouri departed this life on Thursday, January 5, 2017 at Lee's Summit Medical Center, Lee's Summit, Missouri surrounded by love and family.

Mary is survived by her three daughters, Judy K. Welsh of Harrisonville, Missouri, Janice L. Street of Harrisonville, Missouri, and Jessica A. Vinzant of Olathe, Kansas; five grandchildren, David, Angela, Jason, Eryn, and Jared; six great grandchildren, Jonathan, Elijah, Jozlyn, Mackenzie, Achel, and Alexis; other relatives and many friends.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 12, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church, Harrisonville, Missouri with burial in the Dayton Cemetery near Garden City, Missouri.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, January 11, 2017 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. at the Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Family suggest that memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society.

Final arrangements entrusted to Dickey Funeral Home, Harrisonville, Missouri.

Wanted fugitive arrested in Butler

On 01/07/2017 around 2:54pm the Butler Police Department arrested 47 year old Steven J. Kinder of Macks Creek, MO. 

The Butler Police Department along with several other public safety agencies received a tip, that Mr. Kinder could be in the area. 

Mr. Kinder was arrested for 1.) Camden County Warrant. I.) Class B Felony Child Molestation 1st degree II.) Class B Felony Child Molestation 1st degree III.) Class B Felony Child Molestation 1st degree IV.) Class B Felony Child Molestation 1st degree V.) Unclassified Felony Statutory Sodomy 1st degree 

He was booked into the Bates County Jail with a bond of $300,000.00 Cash.
