Water main repair in Garden City
The Garden City Water Department is repairing a water main in the 200 block of Palm Lane in Garden City.
The water Department will have Palm Ln blocked between 12:30pm to 3:00pm.
Please avoid the area if possible and take an alternate route.
Winter Weather Advisory issued for reduced travel this weekend in Missouri
Motorists should avoid travel if possible in Missouri late Thursday night through Sunday due to incoming significant amounts of freezing rain, sleet and ice.
Travel should be avoided overnight Thursday into Friday through Sunday.
Friday morning rush hour commutes will be impacted by the freezing rain across most of Missouri.
Clinton Police Department looking for subject who fled after police chase

Around midnight last night, while on patrol in the area of 2nd and Calvird, Clinton Police observed a white Nissan 4 door sedan sitting in the road way not moving for an extended period of time.
When the Police vehicle approached, the sedan took off at a high rate of speed. As the officer attempted to stop the vehicle, the driver turned off the headlights and accelerated. A short distance later, it collided with the curb in the area of 3rd and Bodine.
When the officer caught up, the occupants had exited the vehicle and fled the scene on foot. The Clinton Police Department K9 was called to the scene and assisted in a search of the area, but the suspects were not located.
The vehicle was seized and towed from the scene. Identification was found in the vehicle of 27 year old Clinton resident Jamie Marie Vanblaricon.
Ms. Vanblaricon has a felony warrant out for her arrest for violating supervised probation she was placed on by the court due to a felony drug conviction.
If you know the whereabouts of Ms. Vanblaricon, or anyone else that may have been in the vehicle in reference to this information, please call the Clinton Police Department at 660-885-2679.

The forecast continues to indicate significant icing for our area. As a result Osage Valley is gearing up to prepare for a significant power outage event.
We urge our members to be prepared as well. Be sure to have plenty of food and supplies to handle a possible multi-day outage event.
Stock up on fuel, food, water, batteries. If you have a generator make sure it is in proper working order and that you and your family know how to operate the generator.
Your safety and the safety of our linemen depend on it. If you care for someone that is ill or elderly please make a plan now for their care and safety during a prolonged power outage.

He enjoyed the outdoors life where he fished, camped and hunted. He was a K.C. Chiefs and NASCAR fan. Clifford will be remembered by his family as “Mr. Fix-It” as he enjoyed fixing things for family and friends.
Clifford is survived by a son, Cameron Cartwright and wife, Lakyn Nevada; daughter, Amanda Cartwright, Nevada; grandchildren, Qwinley Cartwright, Stratton Mansfield, MiKayla Cartwright, and Trusten Derry; mother, Glenna Cartwright, Nevada; father, Clifford Jr. and wife Cindy, Nevada; sister, Angela Haun and husband, Terry, Sidney, NE; brothers, Kevin Cartwright and Shawn Cartwright, both of Nevada; also survived by Cameron and Amanda’s half-sister, Alyssa Cole of Springfield.
Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2017 in the Ferry Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Terry Mosher officiating. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at Ferry Funeral Home.
