From the Butler Fire Department

No burning permits will be issued for the City of Butler until further notice. As our dry weather continues we are asking that everyone refrain from conducting any outside burning.

Over the next few days the temperatures will continue to rise and the humidity will drop. Friday winds are forecasted to be at least 25 mph.

PLEASE REFRAIN FROM ALL BURNING OUTSIDE until we receive a significant measurable amount of rain. Thank you.

Fundraiser for Saylor Johnson Family

This event is to help raise funds for the family of the late Saylor Johnson. Saylor was lost recently in a housefire and Harrisonville, as a community, has been outspoken in it's efforts to help the family all that they can. From 3pm-7pm we will have chili and chili dogs. at 4pm we will have a 25 cent cake walk. At 6pm (registration starts at 430) we will have a texas holdem poker tournament ($40 includes chili) and throughout the evening (ending at 9pm) we will have a 50/50 cash raffle as well as a ton of cool silent auction items to bid on, including signed chiefs and royals mechandise.

Please refrain from burning tomorrow and this weekend

Tomorrow & including this weekend should be warm and windy across our area. We are asking that everyone refrain from conducting ANY outside burning. This means don't burn trash, grass, leave, fields, tree limbs / brush etc.

Please don't throw your cigarette butts out the window. No fire pits or bonfires. A small "controlled" burn can quickly get out of control because of the severe dry and windy conditions. If your going to use a BBQ grill please use extreme caution..

PLEASE REFRAIN FROM ALL BURNING OUTSIDE until we receive a significant measurable amount of rain. Please share this post to get the word out. Thank you!
