Funeral services will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 1pm, also at the chapel.
Interment will be at Englewood Cemetery, Clinton, Missouri. The family suggests memorial contributions to Crossroads Hospice and may be left in care of the funeral home. Fond memories and condolences may be left online at www.vansant-millsfuneralhome.com
He was the youngest child of 13 of James Monroe Littleton, Sr. and Ollie Mae Dixon Littleton. He was born July 20, 1936 in South River, North Carolina. Jim started to work at an early age for Rival Mfg. Co. in an entry level position. His service with Rival was interrupted with him going into the Army, and he served in the Korean war from 1950-1953. After being honorably discharged he resumed his job at Rival and climbed the corporate ladder to become a plant manager in Warrensburg, MO and Flowood, MS. He retired on October 30, 1994 with 41 years of service. On November 7, 1964 he married Barbara Zeiler and they began sharing the responsibility of raising their 3 children.
He became a Mason in the mid 70's culminating in becoming president of the Golden Valley Chapter of the Shrine in 1983. Jim is a member of South Haven Baptist Church in Belton, Missouri. His hobbies were golf, casino, family, travel, country music, hunting and fishing.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents, 5 brothers, 6 sisters and a grandson.
He is survived by his spouse Barbara and his 3 children; James "Bud" Littleton (Jess), Carolyn Carroll (Lanny), and Pat Lawson (LaVon), also a brother Clinton Littleton (Polly) of Newport, NC, 8 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
The family would like to thank Crossroads Hospice for their loving care.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Vansant-Mills Funeral Home of Clinton, MO.

Butler Fire Department assists in battling garage fire in South Amoret

The cause of the fire is under investigation at this time and the garage was burnt to the ground and is a total loss.
