Visitation will be Saturday afternoon from 2-4 p.m. at Schowengerdt Chapel. Burial in Fairview Cemetery, Butler, Missouri. Contributions to Community of Christ Church.
James Russell Keeble, age 95 of Belton, Missouri formerly of Butler, Missouri died Wednesday, February 15, 2017 at John Knox Care Center in Lee's Summit. He was born September 10, 1921 to James Gleaves and Nettie Jane Hancock Keeble in Bates County, Missouri.
Russell is survived by his wife Eva Lena Keeble of Belton, Missouri; two sons, Robert Michael Keeble and wife Cathy of Leawood, Kansas and Timothy Keeble and wife Joanna of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; one daughter, Kristy Keeble and fiance George King of Lake of the Ozarks, Missouri; three grandchildren, Cara Keeble and friend Mitchell Lutterman of St. Louis, Missouri, Katelynn Keeble and Jenna Keeble and fiance` Alex Coday all of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; three nieces, Terry Griffin and husband Alvin, Joyce Heckadon and Vicki Walters; and special friends the Jack Kenney family and Glenn Domer family. He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Russell Alan Keeble; four sisters, Gladys Tincher, Florence Radford, Dorothy Herman and Nadine Fairchild; and nephews, Wesley Radford and Dennis Walters.

Search warrant executed in Central Missouri

During the search of the residence detectives located just over $21,000.00 dollars, several firearms and a large amount of marijuana and packaging material.
One occupant, John Stackle, was taken into custody for possession with the intent to distribute a controlled substance and unlawful use of a weapon. Four additional occupants were taken into custody for possession of marijuana and /or possession of drug paraphernalia.
Stackle is being held at the Johnson County Jail with bond set at $4,500 dollars. The Johnson County Sheriff's Office will continue working with all law enforcement agencies in the county to do everything possible to see that Johnson County continues to be a safe place for all of our citizens.
Motorcycle accident in Cass County injures one
On 2/16/17 around 2:34pm the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County responded to a one vehicle motorcycle accident on Route P just East of Pryor in rural Cass County.The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2011 Harley Davidson driven by 66 year old Jess R. Pittman of Blue Springs, Missouri topped and hill and noticed farm equipment in the roadway.
Mr. Pittman lost control of his bike when he applied the brakes causing the vehicle to travel off the right side of the roadway ejecting the driver.
Mr. Pittman sustained moderate injuries in this accident and he was transported by private vehicle to St. Lukes East in Lees Summit, Missouri for treatment.
The bike was totaled and towed from the scene by Jim's Tow of Lees Summit, Missouri.

Obituary - Raymond Lee Melton
Raymond wished to be cremated with no public service. His family will be honoring those wishes. If you want to sign your name on the registry for his family there will be a book available at Hill & Son Funeral Home.
Any memorial contributions toward a love fund for Raymond's family may also be left at the funeral home.
Raymond Lee Melton born June 24, 1953 to Truman Lee and Velda Marie (Williamson) Melton in Walnut Ridge, Arkansas, passed away at his home on February 15, 2017.
He attended school in Southern California, then in 1978 he moved to the Missouri and Kansas areas, where he met his wife Lucy of 38 years. To this union three children were born: Nicole, Joshua, and Joe.
Raymond worked most of his life as an ornamental welder as long as he was able. He was known well for his “tell you what he thought” attitude.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one infant son, Joshua; one sister, Rose Crissman.
Raymond is survived by his wife, Lucy; one daughter, Nicole (Danny) Whitford; one son, Joe (Christi) Melton; and one sister, Helen Albritton.
Any memorial contributions toward a love fund for Raymond's family may also be left at the funeral home.
